"CSM DOUBLE DRIVER ver.2" and "CSM Fang Memory & Extreme Memory ver.2" Just before the release! Introducing the additional specifications and final specifications!

Hello everyone. I am the developer of DOUBLE DRIVER ver.2.
"CSM DOUBLE DRIVER ver.2" and "CSM Fang Memory & Extreme Memory ver.2" are finally available! In this blog just before the release, we will be revealing some images of the final samples and the contents of the web manual, as well as introducing the additional and final specifications.

First, let me show you a photo of the final sample. This is what DOUBLE DRIVER packaging looks like!

On the front side, Double is posing "Count your sins", and on the back side, Heat Metal Luna Trigger is placed. Although DOUBLE DRIVER CSM has been released several times, this is the first time that these two forms have been designed on a CSM package.

The "Fang Memory & Extreme Memory ver.2" is as follows. The front side is Cyclone Joker Extreme, and the back side is Fang Joker. Together with DOUBLE DRIVER, the two products are designed to cover the three basic forms of Double and the two enhanced forms! It's spectacular!

When you open the package and arrange the items, they look like this:

It has the same appearance as the one exhibited at the event "NARIKIRI WORLD 2024" at the end of last year, and the Gaia Memory with circuit board detail parts and DOUBLE DRIVER with a new design and painted in a heavy metallic red look very good! As for the Fang Memory, we adjusted the body color as much as possible to get it closer to the impression in the movie, and the metallic color is slightly closer to silver than the one on the reservation page and the CSM Fang Memory of past products.

In fact, there is an additional item included in Contents, and that is the "auxiliary part for removing the cover part."

In order to improve the appearance, this Gaia Memory has a cover part that snaps into place on the back of the memory, which some people may find a little difficult to remove.
In that case, you can press this auxiliary part against the wall as shown in the image above to make it easier to remove. The shape is made to look like a memory stick, just for fun.
Also, because they are small and easy to lose, we include two with each product. You don't have to worry if you lose one!

Also, the driver itself below is an area where you will be able to see the evolution of this product in particular!

The key feature of the "DOUBLE DRIVER ver.2" is that it is equipped with an electronic gimmick inside DOUBLE DRIVER itself, allowing it to do a variety of things that were not possible before.

The dialogue button at the bottom of the belt plays lines from Shotaro and Philip's video works!

The BGM and sound effect buttons on the top of the belt can be used to play memorable BGM from the movie as well as sound effects that accompany transformations, such as the "belt fastening sound"!

And the biggest improvement is that the driver and memory can recognize each other through communication! This makes it possible to play sound effects from the driver that correspond to the currently transformed form, or to automatically play special moves from the memory that correspond to the form.

In addition, it also has a function where the memory recognizes the left and right slots of the driver and the timing of the transformation sound changes automatically, so in addition to the forms that are based on the show such as "Cyclone Joker", you can enjoy the transformation sound exchanges of various imaginary forms such as "Cyclone Luna" and "Metal Joker". This is fun!!

That's all for the general introduction, now onto the main topic!

As a result of continuing development adjustments until the very last moment, many updates were made to the game since pre-orders began, so we'd like to introduce some of the highlights below.

First, here are the update points for "CSM DOUBLE DRIVER ver.2"!
■ DOUBLE DRIVER ver.2
1. Three new background music tracks added!
The BGM tracks released on the pre-order page were 11 in total, but we have added 3 more tracks! The new tracks are:
"Metal Branding"
"Trial"
"Extreme Memory"
All three songs are memorable. "Metal Branding" was memorable when it was played during Joker Extreme in episode 1 and Fang Trialer in episode 16. "Trial" was played during Cyclone Joker Extreme's first battle in episode 32. "Extreme Memory" was impressively used in episode 46 when he confronted the Terror Dopant and transformed.

Each item has a limited amount of audio capacity, and the audio to be recorded is decided so that it fits within that capacity. However, since we cannot confirm how much audio we can fit in until all the sound sources are released, we try to provide a minimum amount of recorded audio at the time pre-orders begin, with some leeway.
As development continued, we were able to free up some space in the recording capacity, which allowed us to add the three songs above. The final BGM list after the additions is as follows:

There are different variations, but there are a total of 17 songs to choose from.
The rich background music allows for an immersive transformation experience!

The fifth song, "Revolgarry Out (First Half)/(Second Half)," is designed so that the first half will play when you briefly press the BGM button, and the second half will play when you put the BGM on standby and transform. By using this, you can recreate the transformation from episode 1 (the battle against Magma Dopant) complete with BGM.
If you look at how the transformation goes in episode 1, after the opening lines of "Revolgarry" play, there's an interlude that goes "chaka chaka chaka chaka...", and once the transformation is completed during the interlude, the second half of the BGM begins to play... You can recreate this with DOUBLE DRIVER ver. 2 by following the steps above!
This feature enhances the feeling of NARIKIRI, so be sure to try it out when you receive your item.
(The 13th song will be mentioned in the "CSM Extreme Memory ver.2" section below.)

2. Added variations of the "Transform!" line!
Basically, the dialogue is played from DOUBLE DRIVER, but the memory alone can also play the "Transform!" dialogue. The Heat, Luna, Metal and Trigger memories each have one standard "Transform!" voice, while the Cyclone Joker memory has four different "Transform!" voices.

The breakdown of the recorded lines is as follows:
① Regular version ②Episode 32 version ③AtoZ version ④Episode 48 version
There are four types:
② is from the episode where he transforms into Cyclone Joker Extreme for the first time, and it is a line that sounds very different from his other lines, as he murmurs, "Transform."
③ is the line "Transform!" that is said when facing Eternal in the final battle of "KAMEN RIDER DOUBLE FOREVER A to Z / Gaia Memory of Fate", and it has more power than the regular version.
④ is the strongest "Transform!" shown in episode 48. It's the best when you ring it after "Here we go, Shotaro. The last..." and "Ah, the last..." on the belt side.

However, in the lines of ②③④, Shotaro and Philip overlap in both the Cyclone Memory and the Joker Memory. This is because, in the process of extracting the sound from within the video work, the sound source of the rose did not exist, and it was not possible to separate the lines of the two. (In the case of ①, the sound source was separable.)

Additionally, some of the dialogue included in the recording contains sounds that sound like noise because it was not possible to remove environmental sounds.
(Example) The sound of flames in the scene where Shotaro and Philip talk inside the burning bookshelf on Earth in episode 16.
- The ambient wind sounds when transforming on top of Fuuto Tower during the Eternal battle in AtoZ.
I tried to separate the environmental sounds here, but I couldn't remove them cleanly. Please understand this and think of this as the dialogue that adds realism to the scene.

In addition, regarding the selection of lines included, we have consulted with the relevant parties and included the maximum number of lines that are possible under copyright law. Thank you for your understanding.

3. Sound effects have been super upgraded!
The new DOUBLE DRIVER can recognize the form it is transformed into and play unique sound effects according to the form. During the pre-order period, we announced on this blog that the following sounds could be played:
Cyclone Joker: Wind Sound
Heat Joker: The sound of a flame lighting up a fist
Heat Metal: The sound of a metal shaft being pulled out from the back and the shaft extending

From there, we steadily upgraded the specifications during development.
In the end, we were able to produce a large number of sound effects, as shown below!

Basically, there are four types of sounds for each form.
It is possible to play a large number of sound effects, such as a variety of attack sounds for each form for Joker types, a shaft attack sound for Metal types (which changes to a whip sound for Luna Metal), and a gunfire sound for Trigger types (which changes to a homing bullet sound for Luna Trigger). The number 0 in the table above is the sound that is played the first time after the transformation action, and after that the sounds 1, 2, 3... are played repeatedly.

In Cyclone Metal, you can play various sounds that have colored the series, such as the sound of the gesture of giving Mick a special treat, which was the key to defeating the Smilodon Dopant in episode 45, and in Heat Trigger, the sound of the point-blank shot that defeated the Nazka Dopant in episode 6. These immersive sounds will make you feel as if you are really transforming into Double!

Also, there is one correction made to the sound effects.
In the "Tell me! Premium Bandai PR team" video posted on YouTube, the "sending sound" and "receiving sound" of the memory transfer were reversed from how they were depicted in the show (episodes 2 to the final episode). This has been corrected to match the depiction in the show from episode 2 onwards. (Only episode 1 had the sound reversed, but we have changed it to the familiar sound from episodes 2 to the final episode to match the more frequent viewers.)
We have received some comments expressing concern, but we hope that you can rest assured.

4. Added the "Naniwa Bishoujo Kamen" transformation sound!
The transformation sound of Akiko and Shotaro into "Naniwa no Bishoujo Kamen" that was memorable in episode 30 has also been recorded this time. The "transformation sound switching setting" can be set by operating the driver side, and by transforming using the Cyclone Memory or Joker Memory, a switching signal can be sent from the driver side and the transformation sound from the memory side will change to "Naniwa no Bishoujo Kamen ver."
This is a gimmick unique to "ver.2", where the driver and memory communicate with each other!

That's all for DOUBLE DRIVER update information!

As mentioned above, the "interactive communication function between the driver and memory" greatly expands the range of playability with this product. Below, we will provide some additional information on how to enjoy the game comfortably.

Supplement: About the individual recognition system via communication
■ Positions for communication
Due to the layout of the internal structure, the memory and driver can only communicate with each other when the driver is closed. For example, after transforming into Cyclone Joker, even if you replace the cyclone side with a heat memory with the driver open, the driver and Joker memory will not be able to recognize the heat memory. Therefore, if you perform the above operation, the Heat Joker will behave as if it were Cyclone Joker, while still looking like Heat Joker.
(This will affect special move sounds and sound effects.)
Therefore, when changing memory, be sure to close the driver before replacing the memory, just like in the movie.
(If you replace the memory while the driver is deployed, you can communicate normally by closing and reopening the driver after replacing it.)

■ Time required to communicate
A certain amount of time is required for infrared communication between the driver and memory to be successful.
This driver requires approximately 0.6 seconds of communication time after loading.
*The communication time required varies depending on the external environment, etc. It is not constant.
Therefore, please wait until the "loading sound" that you hear when you insert the memory into the driver before expanding the driver. If communication fails, close the driver once, wait until the "closing sound" has finished, and then expand it again.

If communication between the memory and driver fails, the memory with silver terminals is set by default to play the transformation sound when inserted into the right slot, and the memory with gold terminals is set to play the transformation sound when inserted into the left slot. This means that it is possible to play the transformation sounds of forms that appear in the movie, such as "Cyclone Joker," in any order without any problems.

■ Communication environment
Communication between the memory and the driver, and between drivers (in 2-player mode) is done by infrared communication. Therefore, it may not work properly in places affected by sunlight. It is recommended to play indoors.
The same precautions apply as with previous products that used infrared communication gimmicks, such as the "CSM Century King Sun Driver" and "CSM HENSHIN BELT TYPHOON KAMEN RIDER 50th Anniversary Memorial Set."

Please keep the above in mind, and we hope you enjoy playing DOUBLE DRIVER online!
That's all for "CSM DOUBLE DRIVER ver.2"! Next up is the update information for Fang Memory!

■Fang Memory ver.2
1. Additional special moves included besides "Fang Strizer"!
The special moves that can be unleashed with the Fang Memory are Fang Joker's "Fang Stryzer" or "Rider Twin Maximum," but this time the memory is able to recognize one's own form, so forms that did not appear in the TV series, such as Fang Trigger and Fang Metal, can also be identified on the toy.
It would be strange to hear the sound of Fang Joker's special move "Fang Striker" when in Fang Trigger or Fang Metal mode, so in this product, we've made it so that when in Fang Trigger or Fang Metal mode, the sound effects of each special move are played! Of course, the special move calls don't exist as audio data, so only the sound effects are included, but we hope you enjoy playing with the toy as an original play experience.

2. Upgrade the look of your arms!
Please see the pre-order page for an upgrade to the appearance of the Fang Memory's arms!
Regarding the arm part of the Fang Memory, it looked like this on the order page and during the prototype stage:

The DX version and the CSM version released in 2014 also have a similar hollowed-out design, but when we looked at the CG images of the Fang Memory's Live Mode, we could see that the back side was also well-sculpted, so we added parts to the back of the arms and upgraded them to a more natural look, as shown below!

These are the highlights of Fang Memory.
Next, let's introduce some of the highlights of Extreme Memory!

■ Extreme Memory ver.2

1. Improved appearance reproduction
The point that required the most adjustments for the Extreme Memory was "how to recreate the head fit in Live Mode." In the DX version, the head is made of soft parts, and after closing the entire memory, you fit the pin at the tip yourself to recreate the beautiful Live Mode bird head, but this fixing method means that the pin is completely visible when transformed, which is a disadvantage in terms of appearance due to the nature of the toy.

This time, we removed this joint and made the head a hard part to improve the reproducibility of the exterior design, but if the opening and closing axis is loose like the DX, it will open easily in live mode and the head will not fit together easily. Therefore, we made the opening and closing click stronger, and adjusted it so that the head always closes with strong force, which made it possible to both reproduce the appearance without a pin and the state in live mode.
However, please note that the feeling of opening and closing the Extreme Memory is much stronger than the DX version. When this memory is installed, we recommend that you use both hands to open and close the screwdriver.

Besides the pins, there are many other parts that have been repainted and sculpted to recreate the scenes in the movie. If you already have the DX version, be sure to compare it when you receive it! The overall appearance has a more three-dimensional feel.

2. Gold Extreme's NARIKIRI ability has increased!
This is more of an upgrade point for DOUBLE DRIVER, but as background music exclusively for playing Cyclone Joker Gold Extreme, "WBX ~ W-Boiled Extreme ~ (AtoZ ver.)" has been added as the 13th background music for DOUBLE DRIVER.
This is a "WBX" scale model inspired by the final battle in "KAMEN RIDER DOUBLE FOREVER A to Z / Gaia Memory of Fate." By combining it with the "Gold Extreme Transformation Sound" from the Extreme Memory, you can have a more immersive NARIKIRI playing experience, so we hope you'll enjoy it when you receive it.

3. Lots of sound effects to play with!
With Extreme Memory ver.2, you can play sound effects reminiscent of scenes from the movie by pressing the button on the memory alone.
The silver and gold terminal sides can produce slightly different flying sounds and Philip's absorption and appearance sounds, and the fourth sound on the gold terminal side includes the sound of Philip appearing in the final episode.

This is the sound effect from the final episode, when Shotaro is protected from an attack by the Energy Dopant and then Philip appears, which excited fans at the time. I hope you will enjoy playing it for yourself.

This has been a long introduction, but this concludes our introduction to the additional specifications for the "CSM DOUBLE DRIVER ver.2" and "CSM Fang Memory & Extreme Memory ver.2."

The specifications introduced here are only a part of the product, and there is still plenty of fun to be had with this item, so we hope you will have lots of fun playing with it while checking the online instruction manual once you receive it!
Well then!
