This is Jirass that I have spent 15 years raising. Jirass is more important to me than my own life!!

Look at those glowing eyes...

Look at that raging mouth...

Jirasu is a work of art that I created!

Hello everyone.
I'm Dr. Monster Nno, in charge of planning and developing Ultraman toys.

Now, as the broadcast and toy release of "Ultraman Omega" approaches...
A truly treasured project has been announced.

That is...
Reservations will begin today, June 26th (Thursday) at 4pm on PREMIUM BANDAI.

MovieMonsterSeries x Ultra Monster Advance
Collared Dinosaur Jirass
is!

"Ultra Kaiju Advance" is familiar to everyone who is viewing this page,
As a new development, the unexpected "Jirasu" appears on the mound!

What's more, it will be commercialized as a brand collaboration item with the "MovieMonsterSeries" a series of soft vinyl figures featuring monsters from various special effects works, including "Godzilla," in succession.

There's a bit too much information at this point...
I'd like to review it right away while looking at the sample!

[After 59 years, a miraculous new soft vinyl figure has been released!]
"Jirasu the Collared Dinosaur" only appeared in one episode of the 1966 TV series "Ultraman", but it is one of the famous monsters that left such a strong impact that it was hard to believe.

In terms of recent three-dimensional figures, the closely related "Erimaki-Telesdon" has joined the current soft vinyl series, and this has also become quite a hit product.

This is probably the first BANDAI soft vinyl figure of him since the limited edition soft vinyl that came with "Ultra Battle Zone: Great Monster Battlefield" released in the 1990s.

This is 100% off topic, but I've loved Zelda since I was a child, and I received this Ultra Battle Zone as a birthday present when I was 6 years old.
I got this item after a long negotiation with my parents. The reason I wanted it was because I was fascinated by the Jigglypuff soft vinyl toy that can only be found here.
If you think about it, the reason why the words "Jirasu Soft Vinyl" give off such a strange feeling of specialness may be because of the existence of this item.
(Is there anyone else who can empathize with this original experience?)

When I pick up the modern-day Jirass soft vinyl toy, I am reminded of the days when I used to play with the soft vinyl toy while watching the VHS of "Ultra Monster Encyclopedia Ultraman" so many times that it wore out...

...But putting that aside,
This time, we have produced this Jirass using a new mold in order to reproduce its unique shape.

If you are a special effects fan, you may be wondering if they are reusing the mold of "that monster."
Soft vinyl molds aren't that flexible...

A specially designed sculpture has been created based on the concept of reproducing the details and gimmicks unique to Jirass.

Since this is a brand new sculpture, we were able to capture even the smallest nuances, such as the slightly shifted eyes that are so memorable in close-up scenes in the movie.

The molding color of the body and the distinctive yellow pattern were also carefully selected to express the true character of Jigglypuff.

When looking at recent Blu-rays, the yellow in particular looks very vivid, but in reality, when you try to paint the soft vinyl based on what you see with your eyes, the paint colors are too flashy and stand out, making it surprisingly difficult to achieve...
In this regard, we took into consideration the balance with the molding color, and also referred to paper sources such as old monster encyclopedias and photographs as supplementary materials, and adopted colors that would give the three-dimensional object a cohesive look and also feel natural in terms of the image.

In terms of size, it is sculpted to be approximately 160mm in height, which conforms to the standard size of the "MovieMonsterSeries."
That being said, this size is in a similar balance to the Vazanga and Nijikagachi from "Ultra Kaiju Advance," and is also in a similar scale to the old Ultra Soft Vinyl series (see image below).

▲Comparison with the old soft vinyl series Golza

So, you can enjoy it as part of the "MovieMonsterSeries",
The intended point of this project is that the balance will not look out of place even when displayed together with the Kaiju Advance Series or the older-sized Hatsuman Kaiju.

The scale is just right to line up alongside the "Ultra Action Figures"!

[The collar-removing gimmick is thoroughly recreated!]
Now, this Jirass is also an "Ultra Kaiju Advance," so in keeping with the concept of the series, the gimmicks used to recreate scenes from the show are used.

In other words... the collar can be removed!

It's an impressive and brilliant performance that has become synonymous with Jiraiya.

When creating this product, we were thoroughly determined to "not reproduce it using interchangeable parts."

To be more specific,
・The parts that originally came with the collar can be removed as is.
・When the collar is removed, the same scars as in the movie remain on the neck.
We place great importance on the following:

So, when I actually pulled on the sample scarf...

Just like in the movie, it recreates the way the hair comes off, seemingly torn off from the root.

The collar itself is wrapped quite tightly, so there is almost no wobbling when it is worn.

In addition, the scars left by removing the collar are also faithfully recreated through paint.

Ever since we launched "Ultra Kaiju Advance" with the first release, Bazanga, we have been thinking about eventually releasing monsters from the previous series in this format...
For example, in the case of "Gomora" and the "tail tearing gimmick", this is an element that has been reproduced many times in other figures, so
If I were to do something concrete, I wanted to do something that has as few opportunities as possible for commercialization.

It took some time for this plan to come to fruition, but as one of the people in charge, I am overjoyed that we have finally been able to bring "Jillas" to life in 3D!

If you are interested in this project, please pick it up.
We hope that you will enjoy Jirass and would appreciate your support in our next product project.
