Hello everyone! I'm Wakkun, in charge of Ultraman toy planning and development.

The reservation deadline for this blog [Junko 1] is 23:00 on Monday, September 1st.
We will be reviewing the factory sample prototype of the "MovieMonsterSeries x Ultra Kaiju DX Vagsect (Large)"!



A large space armored beast that appeared at the beginning of the first episode of "Ultraman Omega."
Similarly, Grime, who emerged from the ground in the first episode of Omega, was depicted in a very impressive way, but the large Vagsect was also clearly differentiated with a battle scene in outer space and an insect-like appearance, and I'm sure many viewers will have it etched in their memories.
(Even now, when I think about it, it's amazing to see those two giant monsters appear... It was a spectacular and exciting episode.)

This time, we have a large Vagsect.
The "MovieMonsterSeries" is a soft vinyl series that pursues realistic modeling.
This three-dimensional figure was made possible through a collaboration with the large-sized soft vinyl series "Ultra Kaiju DX."

In this blog, I will review the product's selling points and generously introduce the points that I, as the person in charge, am particular about, and write a review that will pique the interest of all readers!



Point 1: Overwhelming size

The large Vagsect appeared on an overwhelming scale in the film, but as mentioned above, by incorporating elements from the Ultra Kaiju DX, we have achieved a size that is full of volume.


When lined up with other Ultra Soft Vinyl figures, it looks like this.

Not only is it tall, but the scythe and tail have also been faithfully reproduced, making the overall length worthy of the "(large)" name.
By placing it next to the currently popular "ULTRA MONSTER SERIES 232 Vagusect," you'll be sure to enjoy the "boss monster" feel that's closer to the one in the movie.

On the order page, we've focused on the size comparison with the "Ultra Action Figure" and the battle scenes, but of course, it also goes perfectly with the "ULTRA HERO SERIES"!





The size is such that customers who have already purchased many Ultra Soft Vinyl figures can display them together as part of their collection!

 
Point 2: Overwhelming design

In order to faithfully reproduce the powerful, biological form of Vagsect, this product is a hybrid of BANDAI 's main soft vinyl mass-production molding method and injection molding.

This allows us to create shapes that are normally impossible to create with soft vinyl.

It reproduces the realistic design just like in the movie.

This requires more time and money than regular soft vinyl molding methods, so it would be a high hurdle to apply this to all soft vinyl items...but we are fully prepared to take on the challenge with this product.
This soft vinyl figure features stunning design and impressive craftsmanship, so be sure to enjoy it in your hands!

Point 3: Overwhelming coloring

We also thoroughly pursued the "coloring" that further enhances the overwhelming shape.
The large Vagsect in the movie has a grey body with silver accents, making it a very imposing character.

Although the term "silver" is used, there are bright, dazzling silvers and silvers that give a heroic and chic impression, but for this product we have thoroughly pursued a "dull, shining silver" that can recreate the main story.

This allows for a striking color palette that is not too flashy but still gives off a dark impression.

In addition, even the protrusions from the forehead to the tip of the tail are fully painted!

The eyes, which are designed to resemble the compound eyes of a fly, are given a realistic texture by using blurred paint.


The metallic blue gives the Vagsect (large) an attractive accent color that gives it a biological feel.
