Hello everyone! I'm Wak-kun, in charge of Ultraman toy development!
In this blog post, we'll be discussing Ultraman Tiga from the "Ultra soft vinyl Series Special Selection," which has recently seen a rapid expansion of its lineup.

★Tiga's Giant Statue -Ancient Heroic Warriors-
We will thoroughly review the two products mentioned above, including behind-the-scenes stories about their development, and highlight their appeal!
First, what exactly is the "Ultra soft vinyl Series Special Selection"?
Tokusen (特擰): Made with particular care and attention.
The Ultraman series has depicted a captivating world, unique characters, and countless memorable scenes...
From among those, the "Ultra soft vinyl Series Special Selection" is a spin-off brand that carefully selects motifs that were not fully covered in the previous "Ultra soft vinyl Series" and brings them to life in a three-dimensional way using a soft vinyl vinyl approach.
This series was born with the first installment, "Ultraman 80 Dynamite Ball."
The release gap until the next release, "Rim Eleking," was almost a year, which has led to comments from fans.
We received various comments about the brand, such as, "Is this a series that releases a unique item once a year?" and "They're all round!?"
Meanwhile, the Ultraman toy development team was working on a product lineup centered around "Ultraman Tiga," which will celebrate its 30th anniversary since its TV broadcast began in 2026. (These two were the first project proposals I ever wrote, so I have a special attachment to them.)
The development period was about twice as long as a regular soft vinyl! The event where we were finally able to reveal its full details was...
On Friday, July 10th, "Ultraman Day," an event will be held at the Suginami Public Hall to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Ultraman series.
It's "Ultraman Day at Suginami Public Hall"!
The X accounts for "Ultra soft vinyl Navi" and "Ultraman World M78 Official" have already been updated.
While information about the "Even Higher!" version of the soft vinyl had already been released, many people were probably surprised by the surprise unveiling of the Tiga giant soft vinyl soft vinyl figure!
Many of you have probably already seen the actual products, but I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce the appeal of each item once again!
■Ultra soft vinyl Series Special Selection Ultraman Tiga Multi-Type Even Higher! ver.
The special selection series, whose information was released on June 25thPart 4is.
This soft vinyl recreates the dramatic scene from episode 50 of " Ultraman Tiga" where the protagonist Daigo transforms into Ultraman Tiga while accepting Rena's feelings!
The greatest appeal of this scene is,
The appeal lies in "Tiga's dynamic posing as he takes flight towards the sky" and "Rena's poignant expression as she pilots Snow White while watching Daigo leave from behind."
In order to fully incorporate this appeal into the product, we put a lot of effort into the product development process!
First up is Ultraman Tiga. And this one is...Completely new sculpt & fully painted (except for the clear parts)It has been made into a 3D model.
To recreate Tiga's dynamic posing, we have faithfully reproduced the bending of his arms and legs, as well as the curvature of his body, based on footage from the TV show.
We considered simplifying or deforming the shape to suit the molding techniques of soft vinyl, but for this product, we refused to compromise at all and adopted the "injection molding method," a molding technique that is quite difficult to implement for general soft vinyl. (We previously introduced this in the article about "Vagsect (Large).")
Shapes like Tiga's left arm and left leg, which have sharp angles of less than 90 degrees, are difficult to mass-produce using general soft vinyl molding methods. However, by using injection molding, even the finest details can be accurately reflected in the final product.A sense of dynamism as if a scene from the movie had been captured.We were able to create it!
Also, because clear parts are used, it's a little difficult to see in the product images...
Tiga can be separated from the base.is!
If you want to enjoy the Tiga figure on its own, be sure to try attaching and detaching the parts!
As mentioned above, all parts except the clear parts are painted.Fully coloredThat is the case.
I could have left the original molded colors of red and purple and painted the other parts, but...!
In this scene, after Tiga flies away from Snow White, his body is enveloped in a glowing effect.
To faithfully reproduce this, the solid molded color is not exposed.Painted with a shimmering metallic base color.We've decided to do it!!
We hope you'll be able to appreciate not only the fully colored upper body, but also the beauty of the gradient coloring from the waist to the knees, which recreates the gradual transformation, when you see the actual product!

Snow White was also sculpted using the injection molding method, so even small details that are difficult to achieve with regular soft vinyl are faithfully reproduced!

Furthermore, to enhance both the dramatic atmosphere of the film and the visual appeal of the object itself, we've incorporated a special feature into the display base for Snow White.
When I rewatched the main story while sculpting the base, I thought, "If possible, I want to become light myself and share in Daigo's suffering and pain, to support him."
I interpreted Snow White's flight as embodying Lena's unwavering and devoted feelings.
Therefore, to express Snow White's speed and altitude, the base has been refined and sculpted with a design that evokes the image of air currents!
This product allows you to recreate the scene of Snow White continuing to ascend, as if flying "higher and higher!"
(I personally love how the silver glitter on the base coincidentally looks like tears!)

■Ultra soft vinyl Series Special Selection: Tiga Giant Statue -Ancient Heroic Warriors-
If you've watched "Ultraman Tiga," you've probably seen this stone statue of Tiga at least once!
I wonder what they were feeling when they turned into stone statues... I wonder what kind of achievements they would have accomplished if they had fought alongside us...imaginationforceofSolvereleaseTaWe have no choice but to
Even as a child, I was deeply moved by the mystical giant statue of Tiga. (I'm sure many fans share a similar formative experience!)
All three of these itemsCompletely new design!!!
The production was carried out with meticulous attention to detail, under the supervision of Tsuburaya Productions' LSS (Long Sculpting Department).
And the number of times you supervised our work is...Five times!
Even one consultation would have been incredibly helpful, but the materials on the three Titans are extremely rare, consisting only of footage from the film and still photographs. Given my strong passion for this subject, I was asked to spend time with them multiple times. (Thank you very much to everyone at LSS.)
The three giant stone statues have been commercialized several times, but past products have not fully captured them.

- The textured surface of the body resembles that of a stone statue.
There are several other design points to consider, and we have focused on covering these aspects during the design process!
And what further symbolizes this soft vinyl is its "coloring."
Since it's a stone statue, it might seem like it would work even with just a single coat of gray molded plastic... but then, the sense of shading and the intricate details of the sculpting that are characteristic of a stone statue wouldn't be appreciated by those who purchase it.
Therefore, this product
Different shades of gray molding; the entire body is painted with a gray drybrush finish.
We challenged ourselves to get as close as possible to the image from the film by applying these techniques!
First Take
The molded color tone was too dark compared to the drybrush tone, resulting in too much contrast.
The stone statue looks older and more weathered than it did in the film.
We repeatedly generated and tested different patterns in this way, searching for the combination that best matched our vision.
We went through over 10 different patterns before finally completing this product!
After we had a clear plan for creating three-dimensional figures of the three Titans, the next point we focused on was the packaging.
This product comes as a set of three, so it could not be hung using tags.
We considered putting them in boxes, but ultimately, we wanted people to see the actual soft vinyl figures before buying them!
We've decided to proceed with packaging the products in blister packs.
The moment it was decided that the three figures would be packaged in a way that they would be visible, the first thing that came to mind was,
The scene where Daigo looks up at the stone statues of the three giants inside the pyramid. We decided to recreate this scene to the utmost degree, and this product is the result.
Completely remodeled with the cooperation of a blister packaging design company.We are undertaking a challenge to improve the accuracy of scene recreation by receiving your feedback!
First, the completedThree soft vinyl were 3D scanned and converted into data, then a blister pack was modeled to enclose their bodies..
Here, we incorporated elements into the data to faithfully reproduce the scene from the show, such as Daigo's perspective looking up at the giant, and the viewpoints of the giants on both sides, and made adjustments to create a completely new blister pack unique to this product.
Because we've taken extra care to ensure the paint doesn't rub off, there may be some imperfections that aren't perfectly reproduced due to movement or twisting of the soft vinyl body. However, we've put in as much effort as possible to achieve the highest possible level of accuracy!
The front of the package features the prophecy of Yuzare that only Daigo (and only he) heard in the film. The back, on the other hand, is...
TPC Data Archive-style designIt is!
In short, it's a reversible design: the front side offers the perspective of someone who inherits the genes of an ancient heroic warrior, while the back side offers the perspective of someone who analyzes "light" and "giants."
On the back of the package, the most crucial part of Yuzare's prophecy is obscured by noise no matter how many times we analyze it... and there's even a record of some unsettling project involving stone statues... We've included some surprises that will surely bring a smile to the faces of Tiga and Dyna fans!
Furthermore, this product includes the first-ever "Ultra Cosmo Record"! By scanning it with the "DX Ultra Eye (sold separately)," you can hear special sounds unique to this edition, so please look forward to that as well♪
