This is a special milestone film commemorating the 70th anniversary of the original Godzilla film, and the 30th live-action Godzilla film produced in Japan.The latest film, "Godzilla-1.0," the first Godzilla film of the Reiwa era, was released on November 3rd (Friday, national holiday), "Godzilla Day"!

Following the announcement of the nominations, Director Takashi Yamazaki said:
"I never imagined I'd be involved with the Oscars.
I'm very happy because I never imagined this when I made Godzilla.
It feels like a new door has opened.
I'd like to thank everyone in the White Team for their hard work and head to America for the finals.
I've been working in VFX for about 40 years, and I never thought a future like this would await me... I wish I could tell this to my younger self.
From now on, I'm just looking forward to enjoying the Oscar atmosphere,"he said happily.
The 96th Academy Awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, March 10th (local time) at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, USA. Director Yamazaki and Shirogumi staff are scheduled to attend the ceremony.
In the long history of the Academy Awards, only one director has ever won the Best Visual Effects award: Stanley Kubrick for 2001: A Space Odyssey. If Director Yamazaki wins, he will be the first director to do so in 55 years, and just the second in history.
Furthermore, no Japanese or Asian film has ever won this award before, so hopes are high that this will be a historic first achievement that will change the history of film!
