Hello everyone!
I'm in charge of development for Shinkenmaru -MEMORIAL EDITION-!

This time, we are currently accepting pre-orders for "Shinkenmaru -MEMORIAL EDITION-", and although we have already introduced some of the product on the pre-order page, we would like to take this opportunity to talk about the appeal of the product once again!

●Modeling
First, let me talk about the appearance! When you think of Shinkenger, you think of samurai, and therefore swords! Shinkenmaru is an impressive character in the show, so we had a lot of trouble with its size and balance. We considered all aspects, including cost, product specifications, and the image of the blade in the show, and adjusted the balance of the blade to a size of approximately 800mm. This MEMORIAL EDITION version is significantly larger than the DX version of Shinkenmaru, and when comparing the length, it is approximately 190% of the total length. The prototype has arrived from the factory, so if you compare it to the original Shinkenmaru, you can see in the photo...!

The overall volume has been increased, including the blade, making it a size that even adults will be satisfied with. The grip is also long enough that an adult can hold it with both hands. Furthermore, die-casting is used in part of the internal rotating shaft to ensure strength and enhance the sense of weight. Please pick it up and experience its size and weight for yourself!

The shape of the tip and grip were also reviewed based on the Shinkenmaru used in the film, and the appearance was completely modeled from scratch.

In places where screws are visible, we have used screw-hiding parts to cover all visible parts from the exterior. We consulted with the design team to ensure that the division range of these screw-hiding parts is as inconspicuous as possible from the exterior, and we have proceeded with development. We believe you will be able to enjoy the shape of Shinkenmaru from both the front and back. The paint color has also been adjusted to be as close as possible to the image based on the colors of the footage and props in the movie.

The set includes six secret disks: a black common disk used in the introduction scene, and a disk for each character used to power up their weapon. The disks have been given a more three-dimensional appearance to match the image in the film. The frame, which is the color of each disk and surrounds the image, has been changed to a molded part. Additionally, the back of the disk, which previously had a hole, has been filled with a new separate part to cover the hole, and the image sticker is now attached to a part sandwiched inside. This gives the disk frame and image a three-dimensional feel, making it closer to the image in the film. The sides have also been given a more pronounced texture, resulting in a more realistic appearance. In line with the increase in size of Shinkenmaru, the size of the secret disk has also increased, measuring approximately 105 mm in diameter.

●Rotation gimmick
The mechanism for detecting the rotation of the Hiden Disc has been completely redesigned. The original model detected the rotation of the disc by having four protrusions on the top of the plated rotating part hit a switch on the gold part.

The MEMORIAL EDITION uses an internal infrared sensor to detect rotation without physical contact. When the rotating shaft rotates, a convex shape on the internal shaft passes in front of the sensor, which recognizes the convex shape and detects the rotation. This makes it possible to detect rotation without having a rotation-reading mechanism on the outside! This is a perfect combination of current sensing technology and Shinkenmaru's gimmick. The elimination of physical contact allows for smooth rotation! We hope you'll take a look and see for yourself!

Next, we will explain the three modes included in the Shinkenmaru Memorial Edition!

●Name introduction mode
First up is the introduction mode! It's a very cool introduction scene, and unusually for Super Sentai series, they introduce themselves while holding weapons. Even though the movements aren't dynamic, each of the five members introduced themselves in a unique way, such as the Lord's pose with Shinkenmaru on his shoulder and Mako's movement with her head tilted slightly, which was very impressive. We've recorded sound effects for this introduction for all five members!

You can play not only the "clack" sound when you place Shinkenmaru on Red's shoulder, but also the sound of clappers that plays when the head is shown in close-up, the sound of the sword tips touching when the five members say "Tenka Gomen no Samurai Sentai..." after introducing themselves, the sound of the lord raising his head when he says "Shinkenger... here we come!" and even the sound of the final decision, so we hope you'll enjoy playing as Shinkenger! Of course, the heavy sound of the disk loading when attaching the secret disk to Shinkenmaru and the sound of the sword being unsheathed afterwards are also included!

You can also select a character by pressing the BGM button, and the corresponding sound effect for that character will be activated. If you want to be Chiaki, select the green mode, and you can play the introduction game with the impressive sound of sword tips touching! (By the way, when you select a character, the cry of the Origami corresponding to each character will be played.) In addition to character selection, you can also play the sound effect of all five characters introducing themselves, starting with "Tenka gomen no...", by selecting a button, after each individual introduction! What's more... you can also play with the introduction game where one person plays all five roles, playing the whole introduction from start to finish, just like in the movie! There are many variations to play with just the introductions, so try out different patterns of introduction gameplay!

Weapon Mode
Next, let's talk about Weapon Mode. After completing the introduction during Mode Selection or Identification Mode, you can enter Weapon Mode. As with the DX version, pressing the trigger on the grip activates the sword-attack sound. Multiple sword-attack sounds are included, with each trigger press changing the sound. In the game, rotating the black common disc loaded into Shinkenmaru powers up Shinkenmaru and transforms it into a specific weapon, such as the Rekka Daizanto. The sound of Shinkenmaru transforming into a specific weapon is recorded here (this sound was recorded to represent Shinken Red's weapon transformation sound). Rotating the disc in Weapon Mode activates this sound. Pressing the trigger again activates the attack sound of each character's specific weapon. Attack sounds inspired by the Water Arrow and Wood Spear, which were originally released as a set with the Secret Disc but did not feature sounds, as well as the Land Slicer and Heaven Fan, which were never released in the DX version, can now be activated with audio! Although Shinkenmaru is a sound-activated weapon, it is now possible to make attack sounds from Shinkenmaru, which were not commercially available at the time!

It also includes the audio for each of the five Shinkenmaru's individual special moves, including Shinken Red's special move, Flame Dance, which is a special move used by each character using Shinkenmaru. If you listen closely, you'll find it very interesting that each character has their own unique attack sound. In addition to the individual special moves, it also includes the audio for Shinkenmaru's special moves, such as Shinkenmaru Spiral Sword and Five-Layered Sword, which are used by all five Shinkenmarus at the same time!

●Robot control mode
Finally, we'll explain the robot control mode! In the movie, it was impressive to see Shinkenmaru thrust into the control platform of the giant Origami, with his hand placed on the end of the grip as a lever for the control stick. Controlling Origami is also an important function using Shinkenmaru, so this control play has also been added as a feature this time. The gold part on the end of the grip is a movable switch, so by pressing it you can enjoy the control action accompanied by a heavy metallic sound!

You can also recreate the scene of Shinken-Oh's special move, "Dai Shinken Samurai Slash"! You can fully immerse yourself in the action, from the sound of unsheathing Shinkenmaru from the control panel, to the sound of the Dai Shinken lighting up as the secret disc spins, to the sound of Shinken-Oh spinning Dai Shinken around and getting ready, to the clapping sound of the "slash" as the Shinkengers swing their swords down to attack! Experience the powerful sound of Dai Shinken's special attack, which is different from the sword attack sound in weapon mode!

●BGM
The BGM includes three songs: the show's opening theme "Samurai Sentai Shinkenger," the memorable song for the introduction scene "One Line Recital!", and the insert song "Fight! Shinkenger." "One Line Recital!" was also included in the Shadow Phone -MEMORIAL EDITION-, but as it is an essential song for the introduction scene, we included it again this time. We hope you enjoy playing the introduction game while listening to "One Line Recital!"!
