CSM Faiz Gear & Faiz Accel ver.2 gimmicks & sound details

Hello everyone. This is Funasen, in charge of CSM planning and development.

Following on from yesterday's article, today we will be introducing the details of the "CSM Faiz Gear & Faiz Accel ver.2"! Did you see the advance release of the instruction manual in yesterday's blog?
I am writing this article with the assumption that you have already read it, so if you haven't seen it yet, please read the following first.

"CSM Faiz Gear & Faiz Accel ver.2 electronic manual (Pre-release version)"

Now that you've finished reading.... please read on.

① Contents common to all gadgets
● System voice processing
The Faiz Gear system voice (the voice of Takehiko Kayano) was recorded by BANDAI at the time and provided for use in the program, but it seems that the audio was further processed to make it rougher for the video work, so there was a difference in the audio from the products released by BANDAI afterwards. (For Decade and guest appearance movies after the broadcast at that time, BANDAI was asked to provide the audio data each time the video work was edited, so from then on, the audio that was sent by us was not rough.)

Naturally, there are no documents remaining about what kind of processing was done at the time, so no one knows, so we did a lot of trial and error and discovered a certain voice processing method that produces an almost identical voice quality, and we implemented it in this product.
This time, there are also many variations in the transformation sounds to choose from, so the Decade version, KAMEN RIDER No. 3 version, and DX version transformation sounds have been programmed to play BANDAI sound effects "Standing By" and "Complete."
That said, you may not notice much difference when listening through toy speakers...

This audio processing is not only applied to system voices, but also to some sound effects. The startup sound and the receiving sound of the Exceed Charge also had the same processing applied to reduce the bass part of the original sound data.

② Faizphone

●Various variations of "in-movie" audio
There are eight different types of transformation cancellation sounds included! A is a general-purpose cancellation sound, B has the same "feen" sound effect added to the end of that sound as the end of the transformation sound, C and D have a "beep" button sound added to the beginning of the first two sounds, and there are many other types, such as the cancellation sound with sound effect when Kaidou cancels his transformation, the cancellation sound with an error-like "beep beep" sound at the beginning when Takumi is blown away, and the cancellation sound that comes after the "error" line.

For the exceed charge sound, you can choose between having a sound effect behind the "exceed charge" line or not, and for the Queen transmission sound, we have created variations such as a generic version, one exclusive to episode 2, or the early Queen sound with a beep-pipipipi sound superimposed on it.
Select 4 only emits the "Exceed Charge" sound, but since this transmits radio waves exclusive to the Faiz Edge, you will have to wait until the Edge is released.
There is no transmission sound during the exceed charge in the battle against Saiga, so this is to recreate that.

For the Phone Blaster gunfire sounds, the first single shot and the first burst are from episode 3, and the second and subsequent shots are from episode 7.
Small explosion sounds are included to give the audio a more realistic feel.
The muzzle is fitted with a multi-colored LED that glows red in single mode and yellow in burst mode.

Variations of the Orphnoch transformation sounds are also included.
Wolf Orphnoch's transformation sound, in addition to the long duration of his first transformation, is also different from the other Orphnochs, so we've included that.
It also includes a generic Orphnoch transformation sound, which is altered from the CSM Delta Gear sound source.
Three different transformation cancellation sounds are also included.

After transformation, when the phone is set in the buckle, impact sounds and Autobajin-related sounds are included.
A four-digit code can be used to play sounds such as "Auto Vagin Cam Closer," but this isn't used in the film; instead, the robot is transformed by pressing a button on the chest.
You can play such sounds using this operation.
Also, the sound effects that follow the four-digit code system voice are not the same as those in the DX Faiz Blaster. For example, for Cam Closer it's the sound of an Auto Vajin approaching, and for takeoff it's the sound of flight, so each one has its own appropriate sound effect.

Takumi's lines can be played by pressing the three-digit code + CALL button, just like in ver.1, but now you can listen to them in order by just pressing the CALL button.

The Jet Sliger sound in "3821" changes between the first and second time, with the first time playing "sound of appearing from the sea - sound of driving - sound of explosion stopping."
The second time, the sequence will be "normally appearing from somewhere on the ground, running sound, stopping sound." *However, some sounds, such as explosion stop sounds, could not be obtained from the movie, so a different explosion sound was used. Thank you for your understanding.
Both sound from channel 2, and operations such as 103ENTER and firing can be performed in parallel.
Pressing ENTER will play the sound of a missile being launched. This is a gimmick inherited from the CSM Delta Gear.

Added physical sound effects
In the previously announced information, we introduced a gimmick that plays the "belt fastening sound" by pressing and holding the Faiz Shot button, but sound effects have also been added to the Phone and Pointer for some of their actions.

The physical sound that the phone makes requires pressing the phone when you put it on your belt or pull it out, so it requires some technique and may be a little difficult, but I thought it was better than nothing, so I recorded it.
All of them are set to sound with a short press of the trigger.

Some people may think, "When you lift the phone after transforming (when the transformation switch is turned off), it would be fine if the sound effect played at that point." However, if you did that, the Faiz Phone attached to the buckle would rattle when you jumped or kicked, and the sound would make a "clack clack" noise just for being lifted up for an instant, which would make it extremely difficult to play, so we made it so that the sound only plays when you press a button.

Because it is a molded plastic product, it is unavoidable that it will move at times, including bending.
With Ver.1 Faiz Gear, sometimes the sound would cut off midway when performing an Exceed Charge. This was because the Faiz Phone would float slightly, turning the transformation switch off and causing the sound to stop.
This issue has been improved since CSM Kaixa Gear, where the program was rearranged so that the sound would continue until the end even if the transformation switch was turned off while the Exceed Charge sound was playing, and this ver. 2 also uses the same program.

Additionally, the "phone opening sound" that can be played in the pre-transformed state has the same sound as the startup sound that occurs when the power switch is turned on, but with a physical sound added at the beginning.

●BGM and next episode preview gimmick
The variety of BGM has been greatly increased, with a total of 12 songs included. The sound quality is also excellent.
In addition, a gimmick that was added spontaneously during development was the "next episode preview."
This allows you to recreate the memorable final scenes of each episode of Faiz. By pressing and holding the BGM button while the BGM is playing, the sound effect at the end of the program (DX version of the transformation sound) will play, during which the BGM will stop, followed by a preview-sized orchestral sound of Justiφ's along with Kano's voice saying "Open your eyes, for the next Faiz."
Also, while this audio comes from channel 1, Takumi's lines this time come from channel 2, so if you press the CALL button while this preview sound is playing, you can have Takumi's lines play along with the preview, which is some really fun.
It's sure to be a lot of fun playing.
However, if you try to play a line by entering a three-digit code during this audio, the button sound will come from channel 1, and the warning sound will stop.
Please enjoy the dialogue by pressing only the CALL button.
The presence of this audio channel gives you the great ability to have button sounds and dialogue played separately and in parallel.

FAIZ DRIVER (Buckle)

This just shines. That's it.
The Faiz Phone emits "all nine transformation sounds, all three transformation error sounds, transformation cancellation sounds, four of the Accel Form transformation sounds, the three Accel Form transformation cancellation sounds, and the three Exceed Charge sounds," and at the same time sends out different radio waves to the buckle, which are programmed to continue emitting light for the duration of each sound. (For example, when it emits a transformation error sound, it only flashes once at the beginning.)
The transformation sounds in episodes 1 and 17 are extremely long, but they also stay lit almost until the very end, which gives the phone and buckle a great sense of unity.

It will also be capable of wireless connectivity with the "CSM Faiz Blaster" which will be released later, and will be able to receive radio waves corresponding to the various blaster form transformation sounds implemented in the model, and will light up in sync with the transformation sound scale.

Please take note not only of the design but also of the electronic gimmick, as the buckle has been enlarged from version 1.

④ Faiz Pointer

There are three different "lady" sounds for the Faiz Pointer and Faiz Shot, and the sound changes each time you insert it.
The first one is the general-purpose "click -> beep -> ready" sound used in the second half.
The second is "Kacha => Lady" which was used in the beginning.
The third one is the "Kacha -> Beep -> Ready (with a "cue" sound effect in the background)" that was also used at the beginning of the game.
Although they are connected by arrows, the sounds above do not play in order, but are mixed together in short bursts.

The pointer now has multiple special move sounds, which are differentiated by the type of radio waves sent from the Faiz Phone.
When using a normal Exceed Charge, the generic "Crimson Smash" special move sound will be played, but when using the Episode 2 version of the Exceed Charge sound, the special move sound will change to the Episode 2 version.
Also, by selecting the pointer, it is possible to play the sound of a failed Crimson Smash, as seen in the fight against Crocodile Orphnoch in episode 19.
In that case, immediately transfer the memory to Faiz Shot and unleash Grand Impact.
In addition, if you press the button before the memory is set, the "sound of removing it from the buckle" will be heard, but if you press the button after the memory is set, the "sound of attaching it to the leg holder" will be heard, so the sound effects are extremely realistic.
If you start the game in dialogue mode, all special moves will be accompanied by Takumi's dialogue.

Also, like the buckle, it has a gimmick that takes the "CSM Faiz Blaster" into consideration.
Even if you don't have the mission memory attached, you can receive special radio waves from the blaster, and while they are ringing, the LED will light up in time with the sound of the special move that is being played from the blaster!

⑤ Faiz Shot

The basic setup is the same as the Faiz Pointer, but this one also has radio reception capabilities in anticipation of linking with the Faiz Blaster.
In addition to the "belt fastening sound," we also added the "Faiz Shot pulling out sound" to make it equal to the physical sound effects used for the pointer.
The Faiz Phone also includes impact sounds that are not special moves, but it also includes several types of attack sounds that were used in the movie.
In all dialogue mode, Takumi's voice is added.

⑥ Faiz Accel

This is the biggest evolution of any piece of gear other than phones.
First, regarding Phon, the Accel Form transformation sound comes with a number of variations, and the corresponding release sound is also faithfully recorded from the movie.
It also includes the physical sound of the armor opening. In addition to episodes 21 and 22, which were the most detailed, it also includes the guest movie sound effects.

And the important thing about Faiz Accel is that when you press the down button, the usual sound will play: "Startup ⇒ 10 counts ⇒ End ⇒ Timeout." However, the change is that
● Changed the number change time to exactly 10 second counts
In DX and CSM version 1, the time it took for the segment (digit meter) to go from 99 to 00 did not match up at all to the actual 10 seconds.
This time, we extended the time between the two to make it almost exactly 10 seconds. (There may be slight differences depending on the battery, etc.)

However, the timing of the "3, 2, 1" counting audio is set to play when the left segment displays 3, 2, 1, just like DX and other stations.
The correct timing for this is when the number 3 is displayed, which means there are 3.9 to 3.0 seconds remaining, so it effectively starts at 4 seconds, but if it starts at 2.9 seconds, there will be a discrepancy between the number display and the audio, so we made it match the timing of the familiar DX version. (Also taking into consideration that there is no correct answer, since the segment is not displayed during this period in the movie.)

During the 10 count, activate the "acceleration sound" at will and send a special wave to the Faiz Pointer
If you press the down button during the 10 count, you can hear the "kyuuun" sound that sounds like acceleration in the movie. Because it can be done with a button, it feels like the robot is moving at will.
Additionally, the top button is designed to send a dedicated signal to the Faiz Pointer, so that when you press the button the first time, you will hear the sound of multiple pointing markers unfolding, and from the second time onwards, an "enhanced crimson smash sound" (a short explosion sound) will play.
By repeatedly pressing the button, you can unleash any number of Crimson Smashes, giving you the feeling that you are controlling the multi-layered feel of the action in your own hands.
When the count to 10 begins, a radio signal saying "It's 10 counts!" is first sent to the pointer, and the progress the pointer receives over the next 10 seconds is recognized as such when that sound is heard.
After 10 seconds, an explosion sound will be heard from the pointer, radio waves will be transmitted to the projector, and the φ mark will be projected.
Similarly, for the Faiz Shot, you can press the button as many times as you like during the 10-count to play the "Grand Impact sound," and after the same 10 seconds, an explosion sound will be heard and the φ mark will be projected by the projector.
We can confidently say that this gimmick, in which the three items are wirelessly connected and produce a series of sounds and lights, is extremely fun.

Before activating this acceleration sound, you can select the effect by pressing the up button.
Press it once and the segment will display "01." If you press the down button from here, an audio will play with the acceleration preparation sound from episode 21 added at the beginning.

After pressing it twice, the segment will display "02", and if you press the down button from here, the audio from the acceleration scene in episode 22 will play until the end.
Because this is a long period of time, the segment meter will also move slower, returning to normal speed from the display of 3.9.
In this case, the sound effects for the Faiz Shot and Faiz Pointer all come from the accelerator side, but when the pointer sound comes on, a special radio signal is sent to the pointer, causing the pointer's LED to light up.
Finally, the projector lights up in time with the sound of an explosion.

When pressed three times, the segment will change to "03", and when activated, the "Multiple Pointing Marker ver. Enhanced Crimson Smash Special Move Sound" from "Paradise Lost" will play.
This also transmits special radio waves to the pointer, causing the LED to light up in time with the sound.
In keeping with the depiction of Paradise Lost, the projector does not emit light.

In this way, we included as many of the typical Axel effects as possible within the limits of the audio capacity.
If you press and hold the up button before activating it, an LED effect will be displayed the first time; this is one of the effects that was in the DX version, and it changes from "55" to "5."
There was a scene in the movie where the left side was number 5, so I thought that the DX segment was included in the movie as well, so I added this.
The second "Reformation" is the sound that is heard when the DX memory is removed, which was seen in "KAMEN RIDER 3."
Unlike the DX, there is no switch to remove the memory, so we have made it possible to reproduce this operation.

I've explained a lot so far, and even with all the additional gimmicks added, I don't think it will be able to satisfy all of the individual requests, but I think I've exhausted all the options I can at this point, so I hope you'll be pleased with what you've read.

This concludes the introduction of the final specifications of CSM Faiz Gear and Faiz Accel ver.2!
Finally, our sales representative will be introducing the items that are available for pre-order today. Check them out below!
