CSM TYPHOON: Additional information on infrared sensor sensitivity

Hello everyone. I'm Funasen, the CSM developer.

To everyone who has been enjoying the CSM TYPHOON HENSHIN BELT, thank you for your purchase!
After checking out how it works, I realized that it would be better to provide some additional information, so in today's blog I will provide some additional information about TYPHOON 's infrared center.

*This information has also been added to the supplementary page below, which is published separately.
[Notice] About the "CSM HENSHIN BELT TYPHOON KAMEN RIDER 50th Anniversary Memorial Set"
*An email will be sent to all purchasers at a later date informing them that this page has been updated.

As mentioned in the supplementary page above, this time we have set both the sensor's response distance and reception time to short values to prevent the sensor from malfunctioning.
TYPHOON 's sensor is mounted facing upwards and is located in an area where various buttons are closely spaced, so it can easily react to a casual movement of the left arm or a movement of the hand going to press a button, and this measure is to avoid this.
(The acceptance time for ALTERING was 30 seconds, but TYPHOON it has been shortened to 15 seconds.)

Since it is a little less responsive than ARCLE ALTERING, some people may wonder if this is normal. When using the sensor, please try paying close attention to the following points.
(Some of this information is also included on the supplementary pages.)

<Points to remember when playing with the infrared sensor>
① The sensor will turn off immediately after the power is turned on, immediately after transformation is cancelled, and 15 seconds after any button operation.
→ By operating the "dialogue button," "BGM button," "cyclone guidance device switch," "long press of the transformation/special move button (transformation sound selection)," etc., the sensor will enter a reception state for 15 seconds.
However, if you use the dialogue or BGM buttons, the sound may be long or the music may change, so we recommend turning the "Cyclone Guidance Device Switch" ON just before transforming and then immediately turning it OFF, or pressing and holding the dialogue button to skip the dialogue (if you're not playing the dialogue playback game).

●The sensor's response distance is short, so please bring your hand close to ground level.
As with No. 1's transformation pose, it is a good idea to pose so that the back of your left fist is resting on top of the side box.

●When approaching the sensor, make sure you are using the back of your left fist or wearing white clothing.
It will not react if you wear black or dark colored clothes.

The way an infrared sensor works is that the two round parts on the sensor are the infrared "emitter" and "receiver." When the infrared light emitted from the "emitter" hits an obstacle and bounces back, it is received by the "receiver."
By receiving the object, it measures the distance, and when it detects that something is approaching close by (in the case of this belt product, a hand), it reacts (makes a sound).
Since reflection is necessary, whitish objects will reflect light, but blackish or dark colored objects will absorb light and will not reflect much.
So when the sensitivity was lowered to TYPHOON level, darker colors were no longer detected at all.
The sensor will not react to the following types of clothing:

So basically, don't cover the sensor with clothing, but instead place your left fist on it to make it react, just like No. 1's transformation pose.

Please play indoors out of direct sunlight.
The sensor will not respond properly outdoors in direct sunlight or indoors in areas exposed to sunlight due to the infrared rays contained in the sunlight.
Please use the button when transforming outside.

That's it.
There are many restrictions, but I hope you will get used to the specifications and enjoy playing with the sensors.
*If the above does not work properly, please contact us.

Also, "playback of dialogue" is a supplement.
Second sound: Hayato Ichimonji "Hongo, transform!"
9th syllable: Hayato Ichimonji "Hurry, Hongo, transform."
These two sounds are not dialogue, but only this one sound from Hayato. (It is not a program error.)
When running in No. 1 (no dialogue) mode, even if you wanted Hayato to say the above lines to you, the dialogue button wouldn't play only Hongo Takeshi's voice, so we mixed some of these lines into the dialogue gimmick.
Because the dialogue playback already includes Hayato's voice, we thought it would create a less awkward feeling than simply playing the dialogue buttons.
However, if I didn't explain my intentions, it would naturally be assumed that there was a mistake, so I explained my intentions here.

Finally, I would like to add a few details about this Versarayta performance.

In No. 1 mode, the initial rotation is red, light blue, and green, but in the movie, the green was a lighter green.
However, with the Versalight LED colour, the RGB colour balance could only be expressed nicely with the seven colours "red, blue, green, yellow, light blue, purple and white" which are expressed with neat numerical values, so the colour ended up being a bright green.
If the color is light green, the RGB balance will be half-done, and due to the limitations of the IC, the LED circles will not appear connected, but rather will look like a series of dots like a shimenawa rope.

Also, the radial flash effect (jagged) of the LED on the Versalaita No. 2 transformation sound is closer to that in the movie than that of No. 1.
This is also for a reason in terms of LED expression. The background color of No. 2's flash effect is white to match the color in the movie, and this acts as a foundation to make the jagged ring-like flash look connected.
On the other hand, since No. 1's transformation requires the display of three colored fan-shaped lights rotating clockwise while flashing, the background color cannot be white.
I made a jagged Flash animation with a black background, and lo and behold, it didn't look jagged at all! It just looked like weird, stepped dots were spreading out.
So, the flash representation for No. 1 was changed to an expanding circular ring, and we settled on the current specifications.

If we could improve on these points, I think we could get closer to perfection, but that's as far as it goes right now.
I think they might be able to make a more complete 100th anniversary model... well, I hope they can actually transform it by then.

And today is the 20th anniversary MASKED RIDER RYUKI!
Congratulations! Without this revolutionary work that greatly expanded the possibilities of KAMEN RIDER, I believe the history of Kamen Rider would be very different from what it is today.
And I think the toys were definitely a revolution as well.
Today, take a look back at the work and have fun playing with the "CSM V BUCKLE & Drag Visor" and DX toys!

That's all for today. The next update will be on Thursday, February 10th.
Well then!
