Hello everyone. I am in charge of KAMEN RIDER toy development.

We would like to give you more information about the "CSM FAIZ DRIVER NEXT," which is currently accepting pre-orders and will close next week on Thursday, April 18th.


The other day, we released a video featuring Handa Kento, and it has been equipped with various functions that were not shown in the movie, and we have been making it so that it will be as realistic as possible as a "smartphone-type transformation device." Unlike previous CSMs, it is equipped with an LCD screen, but since this is still under development, it is quite difficult to fully explain its functions (although we are not yet in a position to show various screens), but in this blog, we would like to explain its functions as much as possible in writing.

<App before transformation>

①Transformation App
This is the main function of this product, and by tapping it will transition to the number keys familiar to Faiz transformation. The transformation action is the same as in the movie, but if you enter a code that was also in the old Faiz Phone or the Faiz Blaster on the number key screen, you will be able to hear that word in the system voice.
By pressing 103 + ENTER, you can have a voice say "single mode," but since the gun function has been assigned to a dedicated app, this is merely an added gimmick that allows you to only hear the voice that was used in the past.

Also, like the CSM Faiz Gear ver.2, it is possible to select variations in the transformation sounds by pressing the "# button," making it possible to play sounds such as the double transformation sound with Next Kaixa, as depicted in "MASKED RIDER FAIZ Murder Case."

When waiting to transform, you can press the button on the side to hear the "arm swinging up sound" and "belt setting sound". You can play in the same way as CSM Faiz Gear ver.2.

The Kaisaphone is not on standby, but by pressing the button on the side before transforming, it is possible to play all of the android-related sounds depicted in the movie, such as the sound of artillery firing from the hands.

② Burst mode app
This time, the gun mode is not 103 but a dedicated app. As expected, the Faiz Phone of 20 years from now will not run out of bullets and charge every time, so this time it can fire infinitely, and there is also an Exceed Charge icon on the screen, which can be tapped to fire an "Exceed Charge" as a gun. There is no Exceed Charge icon in the burst mode before transformation, and it is only implemented after transformation.

③Knuckle mode
Knuckle Mode was implemented to consolidate the functions of the Faiz Shot into the phone, since smartphones have built-in camera functions. This mode also allows for "Exceed Charge" only when performed after transformation.
This knuckle part (the silver part) is made of die-cast. In order to reproduce the design, the shaft is quite thin, so we used die-cast.
By tapping the screen, the sound of a sword swinging and punching will be activated. It's a gameplay similar to DX Close Magma Knuckle.

④Autobajin App
This is an app that summons Autobajin. When you tap it before transformation, it will first be summoned in "vehicle mode". There are action buttons on the screen such as Gatling, flying, and striking, and you can hear the sound by tapping them.
This is an app to remotely control Autobajin via smartphone. Since it acts independently, it is not certain whether it will listen to your commands.

⑤Clock app
This is an app that shows the current time. You can set the time when you first launch the app or within the app. Since it's a clock, the screen design is based on the Accelform design.

⑥ Calendar app
This is an app that tells you today's date. You can change the date when you first launch the app or in the settings of the clock app.
In order to enhance its realism as a smartphone-type LCD toy, it has been implemented as a pre-transformation app.

⑦Weather App
This is also an app that exists to enhance the realism of smartphones. It is not linked to the real weather at all, but you can think of it as the weather in the world of Faiz.
There is a Smart Lady icon, and when you tap on it, a weather forecast will be spoken in the voice of Smart Lady (Amane Shindo) depending on the weather of the day, and the voice will include some words from the world of Faiz.

⑧Camera app
This is an app with an icon designed with the Faiz Shot design. It doesn't have an actual photography function, but if you tap it, you can see some images of the battles as a battle record saved by the body that took satellite photos of the battles between Rider and Orphnoch by Smart Brain.

⑨Music App
This is the app version of the BGM button implemented in CSM. By making it an app, you can select any song and play it from the very beginning.
There is also a "BGM standby function" that allows you to set three different patterns for each song.
It is possible to set the song to start at three different times: "When the transformation app is launched," "At the same time that the transformation sound begins," or "After the transformation sound ends."
The icon illustration is based on the "Faiz Sounder", and after transformation, the screen changes to the transformed design of the Faiz Sounder.

10. Map App
This is also a map of the Faiz world that does not synchronize with reality. The main purpose of this app is to display the locations of Orphnochs, and the idea is that they will respond to this and launch attacks.
Each time you tap, the area where it appears will change, and it may not appear at all.
Like the weather app, this app also has a Smart Lady icon, and when you tap it, it has a gimmick that will tell you in voice format when Orphnochs appear.

⑪ User ID App
Here you can see photos of the characters using the phone and information about the rider. There is also a voice function, which also serves as the dialogue button in CSM. Just like the music app, you can select and play any line of the voice.
Additionally, with the "MusePhone" which will be released in the future, transformation sounds and special move sounds will change by selecting the character Rena or Kitazaki within the app.

⑫Settings app
This is an app that allows you to configure the settings for the entire toy. You can adjust the volume and screen brightness, change the wallpaper on the HOME screen, and switch to "dialogue mode" (which includes voice for special moves, etc.) as in the previous CSM.
There is also an ON/OFF function for "wireless communication with various weapons." When it is ON, only the transmission sound will be heard during the Exceed Charge, and subsequent sounds will come from the various linked weapons (Faiz Edge, Faiz Shot, Faiz Pointer, etc.). However, when it is OFF, the special move sounds for each weapon will be played from the phone until the end, so even if you do not have CSM Faiz Gear ver.2, you can enjoy the special move sounds until the end.

⑬Call app
It is an app with a number key and a different screen design from the transformation app.
By entering a number and pressing the call button, you can call someone related to that character. The character will then play a message to the person you are calling.
On the other hand, if you leave the home screen (the screen with all the apps lined up) for a certain period of time, you will randomly receive a call from a related character. At this time, the Faiz Phone 20 Plus ringtone will sound, and when you press the answer button, you will hear a voice from the character.
The ringtone is a modern update of the Faiz Phone's ringtone from back then, making it a sound that will make you grin. The same goes for Kaixa Phone XX.

14. Email App
This is also inspired by the reality of smartphones. There are several messages from Takumi to related characters, and vice versa, so I hope that by looking at them you can become immersed in the world of the work.

⑮Internet Apps
Although it is not connected to the real world internet, it is an app that allows you to access the official website of "SMART BRAIN" company that exists in the movie. When you open it, you will see visuals that look just like an official website, including a greeting from the president and a message from Smart Lady asking you to "report Orphnochs." You can also hear the voice of the request to report.

By tapping on these, an animation of the weapon materializing will be performed. Up to two weapons can be materialized at the same time, and when the second weapon is materialized, two weapons will appear on the screen. (The maximum number of weapons is two, so that the weapon can be held in both hands.)
This weapon materialization takes effect with the "Exceed Charge App" described below.

⑳Cancellation App
This is an app for erasing the weapons mentioned above.

22. Jet Sliger App
Like the Auto Vajin app, this is an app that summons Jet Sliger. It is possible to play various sound effects such as "running sounds" and "flying sounds."

22. Transformation Cancellation App
By tapping here, you will return to your pre-transformation state, along with the sound of the transformation being canceled.

23. Voice App
This app allows you to hear Takumi Inui's lines after transformation. Unlike the voice playback function that was in the "User ID app" before transformation, it is difficult to select lines by looking at the screen when wearing it on a belt, so Takumi's lines are played every time you tap. The screen remains at the HOME screen, and only the lines are played.
Also, unlike past CSMs, this time the visuals on the screen clearly distinguish between before and after transformation, so the lines played in this app are basically limited to those after transformation. Most of them are calls made during attacks.
Kaixa and Muse speak many lines even after transforming, so this is where their real strengths really shine in the app.

22. Predictive AI app
Next Phase was not used in the movie, but this app is implemented in the same way as Muse. When you tap, the activation sound will be played along with the voice of "Predictive AI activate", and the same sound effect as Muse will be played. When you tap the screen again, the prediction completion sound will be played and the app will end.

㉕ Accelerator Form App
The Accel Form was performed twice in the movie, and this app can recreate that scene. When you first tap, the sound of the transformation into "Accel Form" will play.
If you tap again in that state, a 10-second count will start and a series of sounds will play from the time you release the special move until you release the Acceleration Form.

- The same kick sound as the second time in the movie + explosion pattern when knocked down (wirelessly transmitted to the projector)

Also, when activated, there is a pattern that can send out the same radio waves as "CSM Faiz Accel ver.2", so by controlling the Faiz Shot and Faiz Edge over the course of 10 seconds, you can finally hear the explosion and send radio waves to the projector.

㉖Exceed Charge App
This is an app that allows you to activate the familiar Exceed Charge.
Here too, the voice changes depending on whether or not the weapon is materialized, whether or not the weapon is linked to radio waves in the Settings app, and whether the dialogue mode is on or off.

If no weapon is materialized, the "kick special move sound" will be heard and radio waves will be transmitted to the Φ mark projector that came with the CSM Faiz Gear ver.2.
When a weapon is materialized, only the radio transmission sound for the weapon will sound, and the weapon that receives the signal will play the special move sound. (The same as playing CSM Faiz Gear ver.2.) Also, as explained in the settings app, if you turn off wireless communication, you can play the weapon's special move sound from the phone to the end, and even send it to the projector. If you turn on the dialogue mode, Takumi's special move call will sound.
If two weapons are materialized, two special move sounds will play in succession.

Above is an introduction to each app. Next, I'd like to introduce some other topics.

●About the buckle
Approximately 40 LEDs are mounted on a line stretching out from left to right, which emits light in a stretching manner. Just like in the movie, when "waiting to transform," small red light particles continue to move around the belt in a circular motion. During transformation, the LEDs spread out from the inside to the outside multiple times. It has a large buckle like ARCLE ALTERING, which is fixed down to both sides of the waist. The socket part for the phone is made of die-cast, giving the belt a heavy feel. (It is die-cast to ensure strength in order to reproduce the design with many holes.)

● Screen size
As some of you may have noticed, there is a slight difference in size between the prop and the screen, making it slightly smaller. This is due to the structure of the toy and the size constraints of the LCD material.
After the planning for Paradise Regained was decided, filming began very quickly, and the toy's structure had not yet been fully verified.

In the case of the current work, the process is as follows: ① Design creation ⇒ ② Toy design begins ⇒ ③ Differences between the design drawings and the toy due to structural reasons are fed back to the designer and the design is revised ⇒ ④ Toy design is completed and the final design is decided ⇒ ⑤ Props are created ⇒ ⑥ The work is photographed.
By proceeding in this order, we are able to minimize the differences between what appears in the video and the toys, and have them on sale in stores on the first day of broadcasting. To do this, we need to start planning and preparing nearly a year before the start of broadcasting.

On the other hand, this time the project progressed at a super-fast pace, from planning the work ⇒ creating the design ⇒ creating the props ⇒ immediately filming. As a result, once the design was decided, the design of the toy began in parallel with the prop creation, and it was not possible to reflect detailed feedback due to structural issues in the props.

Of course, the design was not created without any consideration for the toy, but due to size restrictions on the LCD component and the internal design of the molded part that surrounds it, it was not possible to make the LCD component any larger (if it were made larger, the size of the surrounding plastic exterior would also have to be increased), so we ultimately decided on this size.
FAIZ DRIVER NEXT toy that BANDAI will release will look like this.

●Works with the "CSM MusePhone" scheduled for release in 2025!


The buckle of FAIZ DRIVER NEXT has the same design as the Muse Driver, with only the LED light color being different. Therefore, the Muse item scheduled for release in 2025 will not only be the "CSM Muse Driver", but also the "CSM Muse Phone", which will be sold as a single phone. The buckles can be shared, so if you find it difficult to line up two belts, we recommend that you first pick up the FAIZ DRIVER NEXT and share the buckle to play with.

The first part of this work is currently being distributed on YouTube, and the second part is available as a Blu-ray disc as a limited edition accessory to this belt product. This includes the "Next Kaixa Accel Form," so be sure to check it out.
The second part will be streamed on the Toei special effects Fan Club on May 5th, so orders for the product will close before you can watch it, but please understand that this is due to the ordering period for parts for the toys.

● "CSM V BUCKLE 4 KAMEN RIDER Set"

The CSM V BUCKLE will also be released in a version with a limited number of card decks. The card decks and advent cards are limited to the four main riders. Contents will cost 20,000 yen (excluding tax).
The 2018 version had 33 cards for V BUCKLE alone and 56 cards for the Drag Visor alone, and in order to collect each character's card you had to buy both (or the set version), but this time we're also including cards that came with the Drag Visor.
Since Dragvisor will not be resold this time, the card has been changed to a plastic one (similar to the V-buckle of the CS version) without the NFC tag. Although there is no linkage, the appearance of the card alone is much better, so I think that this point will also be an attractive item.
We have not yet decided whether we will be able to resell the card decks of other riders separately, but if this product is well received, we would be happy to consider it. Thank you in advance.
