Introducing the CSM Smart Buckle from our development team!
Hello everyone. I am in charge of KAMEN RIDER toy development.
Today, July 22nd (Tuesday) from 12:00
"CSM Smart Buckle"
Reservations are now being accepted!
Reservations usually start at 4pm, but this time it starts at 12pm.
That means we're already accepting pre-orders!
Now, two years ago, Reiwa 5 year 5 month 5 I'm sure there are many people who have been looking forward to the commercialization of the CSM Smart Buckle since it was announced on "Faiz Day."
We are working hard to develop products that will meet your expectations!
So, first of all, for an overview of the product, please check out the reservation page and BANDAI official YouTube channel "Banmani!"
I think if you look at these two you will get the general idea.
So in this blog, we'll be sharing more details and behind-the-scenes stories.
1. 2-waydesign
This is the biggest advantage of this product.
Is it the actor's prop before the transformation, where the buckle is folded down (fairly large), or the suit prop after the transformation, where the buckle is not folded down (fairly small)?
I'm sure there are many people out there wondering which one it will be commercialized as.
In fact, we were also racking our brains over this, and initially we were thinking of designing something that could be folded down like an actor's prop, but with a smaller shape and narrower vertical width like a suit prop.
So it's a compromise between the two props.
However, one day, a Faiz fan employeesuggested, "Wouldn't it be better to recreate both?" and gave me some advice. As a result of rethinking the design from scratch,
The small buckle that is used to fold down (right in photo) has been separated.
This CSM original gimmick allows the belt to be attached to either the smaller or larger one, making it possible to recreate the shapes of either of the two types of props.
Now that you mention it, it seems like a simple gimmick, but it was actually quite a struggle to come up with it...
We hope you enjoy playing with the two different shapes.
2. The distinctive belt and belt fasteners are also newly sculpted!
The buckles themselves, both large and small, are of course newly sculpted, but surprisingly, the belt straps are also newly sculpted.
When compared to FAIZ DRIVER 's belt, the difference in shape is clearly visible.
Like the Riot Trooper design, it's a simple and understated design.
In the photo, the red appears dull and black in some places, but this is because it is a prototype.
For the actual mass-produced product, we plan to give it a subdued color scheme like the prop.
The belt fastener that wraps around the back of the waist also has a unique shape and is newly sculpted!
It has an anchor-like(?) sharp shape and is completely different from FAIZ DRIVER.
Like FAIZ DRIVER, the front part is painted silver for a shiny finish.
We hope you enjoy these different shapes together!
3. Includes character voice for Kaido Naoya!
When it comes to smart buckles, Rio Trooper comes to mind.
When it comes to Rio Troopers, Kaido is the one.
So we've recorded Kaido's lines!
These include newly recorded lines from episodes 47 and 48 during the Rio Trooper transformation and lines related to the smart buckle.
Speaking of Kaido, his character and unique way of speaking made a big impression on me.
This is the first time that his voice has been included in a toy, so be sure to get your hands on it and enjoy Kaidou's unique style!
4. A wide variety of transformation sounds!
Although they are all called Riot Troopers, many different people transformed into them in many different situations.
Therefore, in order to recreate these sounds as closely as possible, we plan to include the following transformation sounds.
1. Episode 47 of the TV series: Kaidou's solo transformation ver.
There was no scene where Kaido transformed on his own.
However, for those who want to play transformation games by themselves, we thought it might be a bit strange to have the default transformation sounds for the other five characters sound like a round-singing "Knock, knock, complete ♪", like the simultaneous transformation sound for six people described below in ②, so we are also planning to include individual transformation sounds.
②TV episode 47: Kaidou & 5 Smart Brain employees transform at the same time ver.
This can be heard overlaid with the transformation sound "Complete con con complete♪" that was played in episode 47.
If you wear suits and get together with six friends to transform, the sense of realism may be even more complete.
3. Episode 48 of the TV series: Smart Brain employee solo transformation ver.
This is the sound of a Smart Brain employee transforming on his own after confronting Kaido and Mihara.
Unlike ① and ②, it is characterized by the high-pitched electronic sound that is unique to the Faiz series, such as "piroriroriror."
④ Paradise Lost: Rio Trooper Corps ver.
This is the sound of a scene where a large army of smart brains on motorbikes transform.
Although the smart buckle is not attached in this scene, we plan to include it as it is interpreted as the "sound of transforming into a Riot Trooper."
And since the transformation doesn't take place without flipping the buckle, you can play by pressing the "sound effect button" in the image above.
⑤ Paradise Regained: Rio Trooper Corps ver.
This is a fairly simple sound consisting of "complete" + the sound of the whole body lighting up.
So we plan to record the above five sounds.
Did you notice any surprising variations in patterns?
So the play value is pretty good too!
In particular, the differences between each transformation sound are quite easy to understand, so you won't find yourself wondering "what's the difference between this and that..." and you can enjoy NARIKIRI playing in each scene!
Being able to compare these various transformation sounds is one of the features and play value of CSM.
Please have fun pretending to be various Riot Troopers!
