MASKED RIDER HIBIKI

Introducing the highlights of the CSM Transforming Demon Flute, Oto Fue and the CSM Transforming Demon String, Oto Jo & Oto Kasane!

Since this blog describes the product development process, the specifications of the products described on this blog may be subject to change in the future.
Please check the Product Details page for the final product specifications.
Hello everyone. I am in charge of KAMEN RIDER toy development.

In this blog, we will introduce new items in the CSM Hibiki series.
We will be introducing the "CSM Transforming Demon Flute - Sound Flute" and "CSM Transforming Demon String - Sound Lock & Sound Shackles" while showing you some prototypes currently under development, highlighting their key features!

Let's get started by talking about the CSM Transformation Demon Flute and Sound Flute!

Number 1: Actually blow into it and transform!
The best part about this item is that you can actually transform by blowing into the whistle.
The whistle has a sensor inside the mouthpiece, and when you blow into it, it produces a distinctive whistle sound.
We are currently creating a prototype program, but being able to play "that flute sound" with your own breath is more exhilarating than you can imagine, as it feels just like playing a real flute, so we hope you will try it out for yourself!
In the film, there are various depictions of the whistle, some with a mouth attached and some without, but the sensor on this item will react even if you remove your mouth and blow into it.

For those who are uncomfortable blowing into the device, it is also possible to make the whistle sound by simply pressing a button, and perform "transformations" and "activate the Disc Animal."
This will be possible by operating the button on the handle at the bottom of the whistle (sound effect button 1), so don't worry, you'll be able to make the whistle sound while holding the handle, just like in the movie.

Number 2: Includes many transformation sound variations!

Some of the transformations are shown on the reservation page, but there are many other scenes you can recreate!
The transformation sounds that will be recorded are as follows:

・Normal transformation
・First transformation (long)
・Transformation without a transformation standby sound (seen in volumes 17 and 18)
- Simultaneous transformation with Hibiki in Volume 10, "Demons Standing Side by Side"
- Three people transform simultaneously in Volume 24, "Burning Crimson"

While recording the transformation of the distinctive production,
We also included simultaneous transformations of two and three people because they are very impressive!

We hope you will enjoy playing with the "CSM ONSA&ONKAKU" and "CSM Transforming Onigen - Onjo & Onka."

Third, the horns deploy using the same mechanism as the prop in the movie!
In this product, the horn deployment mechanism has been changed from the DX version.
In the DX version, it automatically deploys using a spring, but in this version the spring has been eliminated and it simply deploys with a snap of the wrist.
When we looked at the props used in the film in order to develop this product, we saw that they had the same structure, and this product has been adapted to match.

The benefits in terms of design are huge from no longer using springs.
The DX version, which transformed using springs, had various parts on its exterior that were modeled after the spring stoppers. (I believe this was done in order to make it easier to play with for children aged 3 and above.)

This time, by using a simple wrist snap to transform, we were able to eliminate the gimmick-like appearance mentioned above, and make the impressive facial design and other features closer to the shape in the movie.
It takes some skill to open it like in the movie, but since we made it our top priority to have it look the same as in the movie, we hope you'll practice a lot and get the hang of it!

That's all about the whistle!

Next up is "CSM Transformation Onigen, Otojo & Otoka"!

Number 1: Amazingly compact!
The biggest hurdle in commercializing the sound lock was "reducing its size."
As anyone who has seen it at a prop exhibition will know, the Otojyo is an item that is significantly smaller in size than the Otokaku and Otofue, especially compared to the DX version toys, and the actual product is surprisingly small.
When developing this product, our top priority was to recreate the size of the device as accurately as possible. By cleverly positioning the batteries and buttons (which I'll explain later), we were able to make it significantly smaller, and I think it has a very similar feel to the one in the movie.
▼Size comparison with the DX version

▼Compared to Ridewatch and GOCHIZO

Furthermore, even with such size constraints, it was necessary to implement a variety of gimmicks such as those listed below, and the internal structure was truly packed to the brim with no room for maneuvering.
I vividly remember that at the beginning of the item's development, the designer looked at the specifications below and said, "You've got to be kidding, right?"

● List of expected specifications at the time of development
-Unfolded length is less than 8cm
・The string parts must be replaceable (and must be buttons).
・Demon face parts can also be replaced
- Metal chains are used for the chain parts
- BGM button and sound effect button (located as inconspicuously as possible)

As a result, this item was born that has the above specifications and is closer to the size in the movie! Thank you to the designers!
One of the reasons we were able to achieve this size was that the battery compartment was located on the back of the bracelet. Due to the specifications, it was necessary to store three LR44 button batteries somewhere, which was the biggest obstacle to making the size smaller, but we moved the battery compartment to the back of the bracelet.
Due to this, there is an unavoidable thickness on the back of the bracelet that is not actually there, but we hope you will understand that this is an effort to make the sound lock itself as small as possible.

As an aside, we also pay particular attention to the structure of the bracelet.
The structure for deploying the sound lock when it is attached to the arm is the same as the prop used in the film.
There are memorable scenes where the suit is worn, such as when Zanki transforms in Volume 43 and when Shuki steals the sound lock, so we designed it to fit in with the scenes in the movie so that you can immerse yourself in those NARIKIRI.
Due to its structure, the opening of the bracelet is narrow, which can make it a little difficult to put on, but we hope you will enjoy it as "an item used by the string users in the play."

Part 2: A transformation gimmick NARIKIRI Gouki, Zanki, or Shuuki!
This item can be equipped with interchangeable string parts and demon face parts.
It is possible to recreate Todoroki's sound lock, Zanki's sound shackles, and the sound lock (damaged version) used by Shuki!
As mentioned above, we were also limited by the need to reduce the size of the items, so we had a lot of trouble with the development and design to incorporate this replacement gimmick, but we felt that this was our only chance to commercialize the three generations of master and disciple: Shuki, Zanki, and Todoroki, and we managed to make it into a reality.

The string parts are designed to be removed using the notch that appears after removing the demon's face, as shown below, which allows for ease of removal while still maintaining a good appearance.

Part 3: The chain is recreated using metal parts!
The chain part that is characteristic of the sound lock is made of metal in this item.
We searched until the very last moment for a chain that was as close to the image in the movie as possible, and we were able to find one that was closer to the one in the movie than the product image used on the pre-order page, so we plan to equip it with the chain shown in the image below.
If you look closely at the chains of the prop, you will see that they have a horizontal stripe pattern, and this design is close to that image.

That's all about sound locks and sound shackles!

The above two items were made possible thanks to the enthusiastic support of Hibiki fans, and we hope that they will lead to the development of future Hibiki items, so we hope you will get your hands on them!
