Well, today we will be taking a look at a new product that started accepting pre-orders yesterday!

To commemorate the final episode of "Ultraman Blazar", we will commercialize a memorial version of Blazar Brace.

As stated on the product page, it is an item that is based on the "DX Blazar Brace", but the range of play is greatly expanded in the modeling and electric gimmicks.

In this blog, I would like to provide a supplementary explanation of the product specifications using a prototype sample that is in the early stages of development.

<Point 1: Appearance>
I think the main point that is difficult to understand just from the product page is the appearance.

The memorial version has a crystal cover on the top of Blazar Brace
We have rebuilt it with a new design and are pursuing an appearance that is attractive enough for adults.



As I mentioned in a previous blog, the DX version is also designed to be similar to a prop.
Because this product is intended for ages 3 and up, we were unable to pursue just the appearance in order to ensure safety and durability.



In particular, regarding the crystal cover, I would like to make it even better if I had the opportunity to remake it, such as the pillars of the molded product called "ribs" being visible inside the transparent parts, and the structure of the part that corresponds to the unfolding hinge. That's what I was thinking.



In this memorial edition, the structure of the crystal cover itself has been changed to improve the appearance in this regard.



Specifically, we plan to divide the cover parts into two parts, front and back, and paint the inside of the parts on the front side a thin layer of silver.
This prevents structures that are necessary as physical objects from being seen through,
Our aim is to both emphasize the sparkle of the three-dimensional surface of the crystal cover.

Since the silver is applied from the inside of the part, the surface will remain transparent and clear.
By mixing pearl material into it, it is assumed that the mysterious texture that is characteristic of Blazar Brace will be maintained.

In addition, as a detailed point, the sharpness of the joints has been made to have a more edged edge.
The overall silhouette itself, including this area, is approaching that of a prop.


The above are the improvements in terms of modeling, but the coloring range itself has also been increased,
There are many parts where the lines on both sides have been wrapped around and colored, and the molded color has been replaced with paint!




The image is still in the prototype stage, but we will continue to tune it to make it look more luxurious than the DX version!


<Point 2: Bracelet belt that is easy to wrap even for adults>
The next noteworthy point is the improvement of the bracelet band.



This is also the DX version, in order to accommodate a wide range of arm circumference sizes under the premise that it is aimed at children.
It came with a PVC bracelet shaped like a hole that could be passed through a protrusion,
This time, since it is an item for adults, the bracelet is made with a hook-and-loop fastener, making it very easy to wear.



The wrist size assumed for this product is approximately 15cm to 20cm.
Of course, there are individual differences, but I imagine you can wrap it directly around your wrist or over your clothes.




<Point 3: Shoots a “Blazer Ray”! ＞
Now that you have the bracelet wrapped around your arm, I would like to introduce you to the "Blazer Ray" gimmick.



If you watched the final episode, this famous scene will definitely leave an impression on you.

The “arm-crossing beam” that Blazer emitted at the very end! ! So,
The main feature of this product is that it can reproduce the blazer beam.

As for how to play with the toy, wrap the bracelet around your left hand as usual, transform with the "Blazar Stone", and then
When you perform certain actions, a sound effect will start playing that will trigger a blazer beam. (This is the audio from the final episode where the bracelet and ring on his ring finger shine and a huge amount of energy is released into Blazer's left arm)
After that, if you cross your right arm over your left arm like Blazer...



Oh, that's strange! My thumb is in the button position just right! !

By pressing the button as it is, the activation sound of the "Blazer beam" will sound.



Personally, I feel that the best part of NARIKIRI TOYS is being able to make light beam sounds in the same pose as in the movie, and it's a point that I personally find very fitting.

By the way, regarding this "voice button" that was newly installed in this Blazar Brace,
There's a little backstory...



In fact, the button design itself was already included in the DX Blazar Brace.

The main premise is that when we were designing the DX version, we didn't really think about commercializing the MEMORIAL version.
Considering the possibility of remaking the transformation items, including the "ULTRA REPLICA," in the long term, as a developer I was just checking to see if we could add a second voice button somewhere on the device.

After that, at a certain timing, I learned that ``Blazer seems to be releasing a ray technique in the final episode.''​
``...maybe if it's a cross ray, you can press the button in the ray pose?'' I thought to myself,
Again, just to be safe, I only remember slightly adjusting the position of the button to make it easier to press in the ray pose.


However, if the blazer beam had the same pose as the specium beam, the arms would be reversed, and if it was a wide shot type, I had assumed that I wouldn't be able to press the button in the first place, so at this point I still thought, ``Let's do the memorial version.'' I haven't reached the point where I have made a decision yet.
As a fan, I had a vague expectation that, ``If Director Taguchi were to film it, wouldn't it be synchronized with the fact that Blazar Brace is on his left arm?''


A long time has passed since that happened...
Needless to say, when I actually saw the final episode of Blazer on video for the first time, and saw the scene of the Blazer beam reflected in it, I couldn't help but jump...

You can't afford to miss this wonderful coincidence, serendipity! I thought,
We have started developing the MEMORIAL version and have commercialized it.


Of course, this product has more than just the gimmick of the blazer beam.
It is packed with a lot of other content, such as character voices, BGM, and audio linked to each stone.
This time, I would like to start by introducing the points I would like to touch on regarding "things".
