This is N-no, in charge of planning and development of Ultraman toys.

Well, this weekend marks the start of the broadcast of "Ultraman Omega,"
With the release just around the corner, I'd like to take this opportunity to reiterate the appeal of each item!

Dividing into major themes
■ DX OMEGASLUGGER
■ ultra action figures
■A certain top-secret project(!?)
I'm thinking of disclosing information in these three stages,
For today's update, we'll be looking at the "ULTRA ACTION FIGURE\nULTRAMAN OMEGA ARMOR CHANGE SET".[Second report]I'll tell you about it!!

I couldn't review it because it hadn't been released yet when the previous article was published.

Ultraman Omega Rekines Armor


Ultraman Omega Trigallon Armor

We'll introduce the appeal of the reborn ultra action figures, focusing on the "Armor Change Gimmick" that allows it to transform into these two forms!

■Product packaging revealed for the first time!
Now, let's start by unveiling the product packaging.
Make sure to keep a close eye on this so you can look for the product in stores this weekend!

The Omega comes in a blister package with the armor parts positioned on either side.

To visually express the concept of this product using the entire package, the armor around Omega's wrist is positioned to correspond to where it would actually be worn.

By the way, this is what the back looks like.

The cool, active poses of the three forms are prominently displayed!

I immediately opened the package and took the figure out of the blister pack...



A pre-painted, fully assembled Omega figure is right in front of you, ready to play with as soon as you buy it...!

Now, let's try putting on the "Rekines Armor"!

■ Enhanced transformation into Ultraman Omega Lechness Armor
First, remove the Omega Slugger attached to the head of the basic form and replace it with the Slugger specifically designed for the Rekines Armor.

The key feature is that you can attach and detach the slugger just like in the show, rather than having to replace the entire head!
The Slugger grips firmly, so it won't fall off during the deformation process.

Next, attach the armor parts featuring the Lekines design to both arms.

These armor pieces are U-shaped and can be easily attached to the arms by simply snapping them into place.

Next, attach the chest armor to the recessed joint between Omega's neck and shoulders.

I'll discuss the range of motion later, but the shoulder armor is also connected to this chest ornament by a ball joint.

Finally, after replacing the right hand of the Rekines Armor with the "weapon-holding wrist",
If you give him the Rekinescalibur...


The swordsman imbued with the power of the blue dragon, "Ultraman Omega Rekines Armor," is complete!!



The sharp silhouette, in line with Lekines' design, and the voluminous feel of the greatsword are incredibly heroic!



My personal favorite feature is the design of the head, which protrudes forward like a unicorn's horn.


From the front, it looks very natural as the crest of Ultraman,
When viewed from the side, the slugger protrudes forward, creating an unusual silhouette even within the Ultraman series.

The Lekines Armor's signature weapon, the "Lekines Caliber," has been recreated in a super-large size, faithfully reproducing its appearance from the film.

These accessories may be shortened depending on the product due to space constraints in the mold, etc.
This time, in order to pursue realism, we collaborated with Tsuburaya Productions' modeling department, LSS, and designed the props while comparing them to the actual props used in filming.

Now, regarding the range of motion around the arms, which are covered in bulky armor,
I thought it would be difficult to move around in, but surprisingly, that wasn't the case at all...

As mentioned earlier, the shoulder armor is connected to the torso's decorations with a ball joint, so it doesn't hinder arm movement and moves in a way that follows it!
Therefore, as shown in the diagram above, you can raise your arms all the way to the side even after changing armor!

Incidentally, the fact that the arm armor parts don't fit into holes also has advantages in terms of posing...

The way it's attached, almost as if it's wrapped around your arm, allows you to subtly adjust the angle of each individual piece!

In other words···

As shown in the image above, depending on the pose, the bare arm may be slightly visible.
By slightly adjusting the angle of the armor and wrists, you can make it look more natural!

By making full use of the movable structure in this area, you can freely recreate battle scenes from the movie!

A pose where both hands are placed on the handle of the Rekinescalibur,

The pose, with the gun held in a reverse grip and looking bold, is perfect!

The Lekines Armor is shown actively fighting in the show, wielding a great sword, so please look forward to seeing it in action in a few episodes to come, and try posing it in various ways in the meantime!

■ Enhanced transformation into Ultraman Omega Trigallon Armor
Next up is the introduction of the Trigallon Armor.
Just like before, replace Omega's Slugger with a part specifically for the Trigallon Armor...


Next, unlike Rekines, you'll attach armor to your "left leg"!

In this process, the toes of the left foot will be replaced along with the ankle.
Last year's "Galaxy Armor" had a design where the parts simply slipped over the ankles of the basic form, but we changed the specifications to prioritize ease of play and holding power.

Next, the armor is attached to the entire right arm...


Once you equip the "Trigallon Claw" on your right wrist, the transformation is complete!!


The "Ultraman Omega Trigallon Armor," with its impressive mechanical and solid design, is now complete!


Looking at them side by side like this, you can see how Omega's armor changes, with the Slugger making a significant difference in the impression of each form.

Incidentally, the armor isn't solid black, but rather a "gunmetal" color with glitter powder mixed in.
The color mixing for this gunmetal molded color turned out exceptionally well this time, resulting in a super cool shade, so please be sure to check it out in person!


As you can see from the photo, the Trigallon Claws at the end of the arms are quite substantial.

Here too, you can add expression to how the claw is held by adjusting the wrist joint and the angle at which it is inserted into the weapon-holding hand.


Adding this nuance makes it easier to express how you're using your whole arm to apply force and the trajectory of your technique, expanding the range of posing possibilities!

The yellow spikes extending from the joints of the armor add definition to the overall silhouette and make it look incredibly cool!!


■Expanding the possibilities of play! Hybrid Armor!?

Now, I must preface this by saying that what follows is not a recreation of the setting in the film...
Let's also introduce some ways to play with toys that are unique to them!


As some of you may have noticed since the product was announced,

The image above shows Omega in its basic form, with the powers of both Rexness and Trigallon incorporated.
Depending on your preference, it can also be fun to give him other sluggers or weapons!



I think that some of the weapons and armor that have been commercialized in the "ultra action figures" series can be attached to or held by the figures,
Why not try creating your own "if Omega"...?


So, that concludes my review of the "ULTRA ACTION FIGURE\nULTRAMAN OMEGA ARMOR CHANGE SET".

With a wealth of parts for three different forms all included in one package, I think this offers the best play value in the series!
In fact, I spent about two hours playing around with it while taking photos for this blog post, and even I, who have had plenty of experience with the samples during the development process, was able to enjoy it without getting bored at all!

Incidentally, "Ultra Monster Advance," "DX Rekines," and "DX Trigallon" are designed to be on a scale similar to action figure, so you can combine and play with other Omega products!

We've also kept the price of the product down to "4,000 yen excluding tax (4,400 yen including tax)."

I don't think it's super cheap by any means, but from the perspective of "cost performance," including the depth of gameplay, I think we've managed to create something with solid play value.
