Ultraman Toy Blog vol.43 DX Ancient Spark Lens Specifications Explanation Part 2

Hello everyone. I'm Nono, in charge of Ultraman toy development.

Following on from the first article, we'll be featuring the popular "DX Ancient Spark Lens" which is currently available for pre-order!
In the second part, we will introduce the special transformation gimmick that uses a photosensitive sensor and how it works with the Guts Hyper Key series! Please stay with us until the end.

■Collect light and transform into two types! The secret of light-collecting transformation play
Following on from the end of our last article, let's explain the process of transformation play using the device's photosensitive sensor.

First, turn on the Ancient Spark Lens and enter photosensitive transformation mode.

When you press the trigger briefly, a "pika-kan!" sound effect will sound and this action will turn the photosensitive sensor ON.

In that state, if you bring it closer to a nearby light source...

When it detects light it makes a "whirling" sound, and if you continue to hold it over the light the sound of the focused light will continue.

The Ancient Spark Lens doesn't just detect whether it has been hit by light, but whether it continues to be exposed to light. Therefore, if you turn off the light source or change the orientation of the unit, a "swoosh..." sound will sound to interrupt the sequence and the sequence will end.
(This reaction lets you know, "Ah, it's reacting to light!" and it's a lot of fun to try it out!)

Naturally, the stronger the light source, the better the response.
For everyday objects, it is easier to get a response if you turn on the light on your smartphone and bring it closer, and I think it will also respond if you hold up a regular ceiling light and bring it closer. (The distance at which it responds will vary depending on the amount of light you are using and the environment.)
If the light is as strong as sunlight, it will react in one hit, so if you point it outside a window on a sunny day, it will transform smoothly! (Be careful not to get distracted and look directly at the sunlight.)

However, in order to allow you to play in dark environments such as at night, there is also an "Another Mode" that allows you to hear the exact same sound just by operating the trigger without using the light sensor. (Activate by turning on the power while pressing the trigger.)

There are two ways to transform depending on the time the light is concentrated.
If it continues to be exposed to light for the first stage (about 10 seconds), it will transform into "Ultraman Trigger Multi Type".
If it continues to be exposed to light until the second stage (about 15 seconds), it will transform into "Glitter Trigger Eternity".

In addition, to ensure that even those who already own the Multi-Type or Glitter Guts Hyper Keys can enjoy the game 100%, the transformation sounds for each character have been changed from those recorded on the key, and are instead made into versions that focus mainly on sound effects, without melodies or heavenly voices.
(This version was used in the multi-type transformation scene in episode 11, and also appears occasionally throughout the show!)

The transformation melody with its majestic melody is very attractive, but the transformation sound made up of sparkling sound effects suits Ancient Spark Lens better and is very cool.

■A wide variety of additional audio!
When you press the trigger after the transformation is complete, a wide variety of sound effects are recorded for each type. This is based on the concept of the "Guts Hyper Key Premium".

Taking the multi-type transformation as an example, starting with the memorable "three types of split transformation sounds" from episode 12, the soundtrack includes the Circle Arms summoning sound, attack sounds for each mode, hand slash beams, and the full-length Zeperion beam sound (including a ready pose sound) that conforms to the TV version, for a total of 10 different sounds!
In addition, pressing and holding the trigger will play the sound of the transformation being released. (This action will return you to the pre-transformation point, i.e. the start of the photosensitive play.)

In addition, the "Sound Mode" can be activated by pressing and holding the trigger on the Ancient Spark Lens itself.
In this mode, Kengo's lines and related sound effects will play every time you pull the trigger.
The lines are mainly taken from the Super Ancient Saga, and you can relive the scene where Kengo meets and talks with Trigger Dark, overcoming his own destiny.

■All Guts Hyper keys are individually recognized!
The Ancient Spark Lens has a lot of fun on its own, but it also has a gimmick that links it with the "Guts Hyper Key Series"!
It can individually recognize all keys that have been released so far, including the "blank keys" that come with products, as well as DX, candy toys, Gashapon, and keys that come with apparel!

Not only can you load it, but all the sound effects, such as the loading sound and the transformation standby sound, have been completely replaced with "ultra-ancient" sounds, and the voice of heaven has been re-edited to a version with a stronger echo effect! You can enjoy a different sound from the DX Guts Spark Lens (this is actually something we spent a lot of time on...!)

Additionally, one little thing that we think you'll appreciate is that, due to the specifications of the Monster Keys, the corresponding audio is dependent on the Spark Lens, and we've incorporated two special features into how they behave when loaded.

One of them is "shortening the transformation sound"!
We saw comments on social media saying that "when you want to hear the monster's roar right away, the transformation sounds are frustrating when they're long," so we have shortened the transformation sounds this time (we have also changed the monster transformation sounds to be mainly sound effects).
After transformation, each time you press the trigger, the roar and attack sound (the sound that was used for gunfire in DX Guts Spark Lens) will alternate.
You can hear the sound within 10 seconds of inserting the key! This means you can now more easily experience the benefits of the Guts Hyper Key series, where each Kaiju key has its own unique sound.

The other is "audio updates for some keys"!
This is only available for a very small number of species, but there are keys that have a different pattern for the cry (or attack sound) than the sound data built into the DX Guts Spark Lens!
Not all monsters have multiple patterns of sound data, so this is a limited discussion, but we hope you will enjoy comparing it with the DX Guts Spark Lens.

By the way, the "blank key" that comes with the product will also be commercialized in the Guts Hyper Key series standard, so it can be read into not only the Ancient Spark Lens but also the "DX Guts Spark Lens" to play the corresponding unique sound!

So, in this two-part article, we have explained the appeal of "DX Ancient Spark Lens."
We have put a lot of thought into making this product so that even those who think at first glance "I already have a Guts Spark Lens, so it might be fine..." will definitely enjoy it, and when you receive this item you'll think "I'm so glad I got it back then...", so we definitely recommend that you get your hands on it.

Reservations for this product will be accepted until 11:00 p.m. on Monday, November 22nd of this month.
The offer may end early once the prepared quantities are reached, so please place your order early.

Thank you for reading to the end!
