Ultraman Toy Blog vol.38 "Ultraman Z and Soft Vinyl are Hot."

Hello everyone. I'm Nono, in charge of Ultraman toy development.

It's been a while since I last updated the blog, but I've been using the time to get ready for new products and more...
We have lots of exciting products in store, from those to be announced soon to those further down the line, so be sure to keep an eye out!

Meanwhile, in the currently popular "Ultraman Trigger" there is speculation that a certain character may or may not be returning.
Let's get started right away.

Please chant his name!

That's right, the "UltramanZ original Key" from the DX Guts Hyper Key Series will be released on Saturday, September 4th!

Now, there are a few points I would like to tell you about ZKey.

Point 1: Let's chant together.
I apologize for starting right away with the topic of compatibility with the "DX Guts Spark Lens (Sold separately)," but that phrase finally plays from the toy during the standby sound part while you're transforming.

This was an effect that had not been reflected even in the DX Ultra Z Riser, so I thought I had no choice but to pick it up, and created a standby sound pattern specifically for the Z Key and programmed the sound into the DX Guts Spark Lens beforehand.

By the way, it's not just the "chants" that are played, but if you listen carefully, you can hear the sound effect "Hyuuuuin shuuuuuin!" that sounds when Zed appears in the Inner Space. I also included it before the lines.
It's so subtle that no one at BANDAI even noticed it, so I hope everyone will notice it.

So, the "Z Original Key" is two to three times more fun if you have the "DX Guts Spark Lens". If you haven't gotten your hands on one yet, please take this opportunity to get one.
For those who already have it, I'll stop here saying that it's for Haruki...because it sounds too commercial (lol)

Point 2: The sound quality is good.
In fact, we have succeeded in improving the sound quality of this "original key" even more than usual.

We're suddenly getting into some deep discussion, but the development of a "talking toy" always comes with the difficult task of determining the capacity of the built-in IC, the audio compression rate, the speaker performance, and how to balance these with cost.

For example, if you focus all your efforts on improving sound quality by lowering the compression rate of the audio data, it will eat up a lot of IC capacity and you will be forced to reduce the number of audio types.
The performance of the speakers themselves is also inferior to those found in general home appliances, so there is a difference between sounds that are easy to output cleanly and sounds that are difficult to output, and you also need to be concerned about compatibility with the sound data itself.

We are mindful of such constraints when building our programs, striking a balance between the "number of sound types," which determines play value, and the "level of sound quality," which determines satisfaction. With Z-Key, we were fortunate in that there were "a large number of sounds that are easy to output cleanly," and we were able to minimize the compression rate of key sounds such as the "transformation melody" within the specified capacity, which means we were able to achieve a fairly high level of sound quality.

In particular, the transformation sound is very clear, with the main electric guitar melody, bass rhythm, and even the light effects, so you'll be impressed with how Zett's transformation sound sounds like. (Note that opinions vary from person to person.)

It includes sounds that haven't been heard much in toys that have already been released, such as Z's shouts and the color timer sound, so we hope you will pick it up!

"DX Guts Hyper Key UltramanZ original Key" will be released on Saturday, September 4th.

Now, one more topic.
In a previous blog I said that "This year's soft vinyl figures are super super super super super serious," and this is a continuation of that.

At the time, they were only able to announce the commercialization of "Okagbira" who appeared in episode 4, but when you line up the characters whose information has been released since then...

"Death Drago" appears in episode 5

"Satan Deros" appears in episode 6

" SC-3 / Special Airborne Armor Unit-3 "and "Barossa Alien" from episode 7. *Barossa Alien is already on sale.

And then there's
Even" Dada (Powered Dada)", "Gargorgon", "Zaragas", and "Trigger Dark ".

Before you know it, everything has been commercialized...

Needless to say, "King Joe SC" and "Powered Dada" are particularly hot.
King Joe is the last piece needed to line up the four Special Air Machine Brothers in the same order.
I still don't really understand what's going on with Powered Dada.
(The person in charge of developing the soft vinyl figure was also in a strange mood, and even painted the back of the figure...)
(I've been thinking lately that it was really good that we commercialized Powered last year...)

Once again, we will continue to be super super super super super serious about these figures, so please collect them with peace of mind. (If you think about it, there will be new soft vinyl figures released every week this month.)

For now, "SC-3 / Special Airborne Armor Unit-3" will be released this Saturday, September 4th. Thank you for your support.

So that's it for this all-Z blog.
By the way, there will be an update next week too, so please look forward to it.
